Opinions Of Non-Physical Education Teachers Toward Physical Education And Physical Educators In Selected Utah Secondary Schools, Myron L. Mcclellan

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

The questionnaire technique was used to gather the desired information for this study. A total of 450 teachers from large and small secondary schools served as subjects. An analysis of the opinions of these teachers indicated that a favorable attitude existed toward physical education in general. It was noted, however, that many were of the opinion that the programs in physical education were functioning at less than their potential. Responses also indicated a favorable attitude of the teachers toward physical educators. The most favorable opinion toward both physical education and the physical educator was recorded by the junior high female …

Nitrogen Movement Under Irrigated Corn As Influenced By Nitrogen Source And Rate, Douglas C. Muir May 1972

Nitrogen Movement Under Irrigated Corn As Influenced By Nitrogen Source And Rate, Douglas C. Muir

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

The purpose of this study was to determine nitrogen movements under a fall applied fertilizer as affected by rate of application of fertilizer, type of fertilizer carrier, and by crop grown. Two nitrogen fertilizers, calcium nitrate and ammonium sulfate, were applied in the fall of 1970. The soil profile was sampled in the spring of 1971 and again in the fall of 1971. Nitrate-nitrogen from both the calcium nitrate and the ammonium sulfate applications was found to have moved significantly from the time of application to the time of spring soil sampling. Two effects from the high rate of both …

Financing An Office, Personal Investments, And Money Management, James L. Keeler Jan 1972

Financing An Office, Personal Investments, And Money Management, James L. Keeler

MCV/Q, Medical College of Virginia Quarterly

Today's medical doctor is very much like today's lawyer, engineer, or accountant in that he is trained very highly in his own field, but has received very little educational background for successfully managing the office he operates. Although I am not an expert in any of the areas which I am about to discuss, I would like to pass along some observations, most of which are drawn from experiences I have had while practicing as a CPA. There is no set way to handle many of these problems, and I can only present some of the pros and cons I …

The Rhetoric Of Garner Ted Armstrong, Stephen George Dick

Dissertations and Theses

Garner Ted Armstrong is fast becoming a well known religious and political commentator. The method used-in the selection of the speeches to be used in this study consisted of selection a number of speeches (56), then breaking them down into theme categories. After analysis, there were eleven categories. One speech was selected from each category, and these eleven speeches were the speeches that were used in the …

The Symmetry-Decision Method Of Eeg Analysis, Richard M. Lee Dec 1971

The Symmetry-Decision Method Of Eeg Analysis, Richard M. Lee

Henry Ford Hospital Medical Journal

An improved version of a previously presented computer analysis for EEG is described. The basic process used in the analysis is the classification of waves according to duration (frequency) and amplitude. The unique aspect of the improved system is the distinction between "simple" waves and "composite" waves, which are slow waves with superimposed higher frequencies. The computer program makes this "decision" on the basis of wave symmetry.

Life Control And Death Control, Definitions And The Dignity Of Man, Charles Carroll Nov 1971

Life Control And Death Control, Definitions And The Dignity Of Man, Charles Carroll

The Linacre Quarterly

Rev. Carroll investigates the lack of acceptable, precise definitions of life, death, man in the discussions of life control and death control. The Christian must insist, he concludes, that such definitions and resultant standards of conduct safeguard the dignity and destiny of man.

Hyperactivity In Children, Pat Luttmann May 1971

Hyperactivity In Children, Pat Luttmann

Student Scholarship

The provided document, written in 1971, explores the multifaceted nature of hyperactivity in children, primarily within the framework of minimal brain dysfunction or MBD. The author notes that while these children often appear physically normal, they struggle with a disorganized central nervous system that prevents them from processing environmental stimuli effectively. This neurological impairment manifests as a cluster of symptoms, most notably hyperkinesis, distractibility, impulsiveness, and emotional instability. The text emphasizes that the number of children identified with these disorders is increasing, partly due to medical advances that allow more children to survive difficult births.

Diagnosis and treatment require a …

A Replacement Prosthesis For The Hip: A Preliminary Report, H. M. Frost, E. R. Guise Mar 1971

A Replacement Prosthesis For The Hip: A Preliminary Report, H. M. Frost, E. R. Guise

Henry Ford Hospital Medical Journal

Because of theoretical as well as practical difficulty in the total hip endoprostheses available to orthopaedic surgeons at the present time, an anlysis of the present and potential difficulties reveals that substitution of a roller-bearing for the present slider-bearing prosthesis and the establishment of a larger end-bearing surface on the acetabular side would be of benefit. Thus, the Ring prosthesis was re-designed to satisfy these hopes. A modification of the Ring's approach gives complete acetabular exposure and control of the prosthetic insertion. This is a preliminary report describing the design modifications of a prosthesis, presently under investigation, and illustrated by …
