Decaffeinated green coffee and turmeric are recognized for their protective effects against hypertension (HTN) and diabetes mellitus (DM). Combining them into a functional drink, green coffee and turmeric (GCT), offers potential health benefits for managing these conditions. This study explored the bioactivity of GCT in HTN and DM through network biology, identifying intersecting protein targets and their roles in inflammation and glucose metabolism. Key proteins identified were AKT1, CCL2, CXCL8, IL-1β, and IL18. Monitoring for medication-related movement disorders is essential for adults with schizophrenia receiving antipsychotic medications; however, inconsistent Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale (AIMS) assessment and documentation can limit timely recognition of abnormal movements. This quality improvement project evaluated a six-week structured AIMS education program designed to improve provider confidence and documentation accuracy in an outpatient behavioral health setting in Central Ohio. This quality improvement (QI) project assessed whether a provider education program based on the 2025 American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) Diabetes Guidelines would improve provider confidence and documentation of lifestyle recommendations. Cold exposure increases feeding, thermogenesis, and energy expenditure to maintain body temperature and energy balance, but the underlying neural mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we identify cold-responsive neurons in the dorsal posterior periventricular hypothalamus that coordinate these adaptations. Activation of GABAergic or cold-activated neurons increased food intake, body temperature, and brown adipose tissue thermogenesis, whereas their inhibition attenuated cold-induced hyperphagia and thermogenesis. Single-nucleus RNA sequencing identified Lef1 as a marker of cold-activated neurons in this region. Activation of Lef1+ neurons recapitulated key cold responses, whereas silencing attenuated them. More than one million Indonesian citizens travel abroad for medical treatment each year, generating financial transactions exceeding IDR 180 trillion (USD 11.5 billion). This study aimed to explore the reasons why Indonesians seek medical treatment overseas. A qualitative phenomenological approach was employed using in-depth interviews with Indonesian citizens who had received or were currently receiving medical treatment outside Indonesia. All interviews were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed through coding to identify themes, subthemes, and related properties. Pediococcus pentosaceus (Pep) is a Gram-positive lactic acid bacterium widely utilized in food fermentation and recognized for its probiotic properties. While generally considered non-pathogenic, it can act as an opportunistic pathogen in immunocompromised hosts. Its intrinsic resistance to glycopeptides, with additional reported resistance to tetracycline and novobiocin, limits empiric treatment options and poses a diagnostic challenge when encountered in clinical cultures and deemed to be pathogenic.

People with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) have an earlier occurrence of aging complications, including cognitive impairment (CI). Chronic immune activation from cytomegalovirus (CMV) may contribute to increased inflammation and CI. We explored this association using several measures of CMV immune response among people with HIV (PWH). In a case-control design, we compared CMV immunoglobulin G (IgG), enzyme-linked immunospot (ELISpot), and flow cytometry between cases (subsequent CI) and controls (no CI). Baseline CMV IgG, CMV ELISpot, or flow measures were not associated with subsequent CI. Nuclear Envelope Membrane Protein 1 (NEMP1) is highly expressed in oocytes and required for fertility, yet its meiotic function remains poorly understood. Here, we identify NEMP1 as a critical organizer of meiotic telomere-nuclear envelope coupling and chromosome dynamics. Loss of NEMP1 causes telomere aggregation, loss of shelterin protection, telomere shortening, persistent DNA damage, aberrant non-homologous end joining, and chromosome end-to-end fusion, ultimately leading to aneuploidy in mouse oocyte. NEMP1 is required during early fetal meiotic prophase I for telomere-nuclear envelope attachment, bouquet formation, homolog pairing, and synapsis. Currently, no small translational rodent model accurately replicates the peripheral neuropathy observed in PLWH. Objective: To assess and compare healthcare providers' understanding of the Notifiable Disease Surveillance System (NDSS), alongside reported and perceived challenges, across public hospitals and primary healthcare centers in Jazan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted between 10 January 2025 and 30 December 2025 among health care providers at Jazan hospitals and primary healthcare centers (PHCs) (n = 420).
