Developing A Speech Consciousness, Hazel Katherine Pritchard Jun 1929

Developing A Speech Consciousness, Hazel Katherine Pritchard

Bachelors’ Theses

An attempt to awaken an ideal in speech in the community is of vital importance. There is a need for intelligible, clear, forceful, speech with accuracy, precision, and delicacy, as outstanding characteristics. Proper provision should be made to remedy the present situation which fails to conform with this criterion. "Good speech ls universally recognized today as an economic, social, and cultural asset of the first rank. Yet in the United States the problem of defective speech grows daily more acute."

A Correlation Of Stability And Intelligence Tests, J. Byron Birch May 1925

A Correlation Of Stability And Intelligence Tests, J. Byron Birch

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

It is admitted by most educators that there are other important factors in human conduct. Thorndike stated, "stability has a great weight in mentality". Goddard, in his work on Levels of Intelligence, at Princeton University, said, "I know there are other factors, but solve the X now …

One of the distinctive features of this viewpoint pertains to the somatic relationship. From this, organic integrity and physical health are seen in a new light. This is of decided significance for physical education.

The increased …
