Test 393: Ford Model 8-N, Nebraska Tractor Test Lab Jan 1948

Test 393: Ford Model 8-N, Nebraska Tractor Test Lab

Nebraska Tractor Tests

All tractors tested at the Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory were certified by their manufacturers as being stock model machines, conforming to specifications filed with the application for test. No special or high-test fuels were used except as recommended by the manufacturer as necessary. All results within the official tractor test report were actually attained in tests and are without correction or allowances for friction, temperature, altitude, etc. The results were initially accomplished with the tractor in charge of skilled operators employed by the University. Unless otherwise noted, each tractor was apparently in good condition at the end of the testing …

Some Applications Of Statistical Quality Control Methods To The Preparation, Purchase And Calorimetry Of Steam Coal, Arthur P. Bellinghausen Jul 1944

Some Applications Of Statistical Quality Control Methods To The Preparation, Purchase And Calorimetry Of Steam Coal, Arthur P. Bellinghausen

Bachelors’ Theses

This thesis is an attempt to establish the applicability of a statistical method of quality control to several problems involving maintenance of fuel quality standards. Although the technique has found increasingly important applications in mass production industries, its use in analysis of fuel characteristics has been given little, if any, study if current catalogues of the literature are authoritative. Analyses of data drawn from publications of the Bureau of Vines have been used to test the limitations of the method. Original data collected by the author shows statistical control to exist over sufficient samples to assure the soundness of conclusions …
