As land development intensifies, it is natural that farmers turn to more dams and earthen tanks for stock water and irrigation.

Adequate water is essential to supply the carrying capacities made possible by improved pastures, and where greater quantities of water can be stored, fodder crops, pastures, orchards and vegetables can be irrigated.

ONE of the most tedious and time consuming tasks on a poultry farm is the provision of water to chicks from day old up to the age of three or four weeks.

Most poultry farmers use half-gallon glass fonts with metal bases for the first few weeks, until the chicks are old enough to use the automatic watering system usually situated along one wall of the brooder house.

This cumbersome glass font system can be replaced by the cheap and easily installed automatic watering system described below. This system has already been adopted by several local poultry farmers.

"This investigation shows that beam problems can be solved easily and accurately with an analog computer. Two problems were solved as to their shear, moment, slope and deflection along the length of the beam and the graphs drawn by the analog computer were compared with calculated values. Very little difference was found between them.

"The desired result of this paper is a method of calculating transient temperatures in an infinite plate. The resulting equations are general to the extent possible for aerodynamic heating and radiation boundary conditions. The possible methods of calculation were investigated, and it was felt that a numerical analysis presented the most feasible approach.

Numerical analysis was employed to arrive at a series of equations for calculating the temperatures at selected positions in an infinite plate. A study was then made to determine a method of solving these equations by means of some high speed computing device.

"Vibrations analysis necessitates having a device capable of performing some initial phase of detection. The vibration amplifier presented in this thesis performs such an initial aid to analysis by detecting amplitudes of vibrations of varying magnitudes and frequencies. This is accomplished by utilizing a Piezoelectric crystal vibration pickup to obtain an acceleration wave form. Two operational amplifiers perform integrations of the acceleration to obtain displacement. A calibrated meter within the device provides a method of determining magnitudes of displacement.
