Recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (r-TPA) is a thrombolytic medication that enhances the rate of arterial blood flow restoration, reestablishes tissue perfusion, and leads to better functional recovery. This research aimed to examine changes in regional brain perfusion identified through arterial spin labeling (ASL) and how these changes correlate with functional recovery following ischemic stroke. Methods: This prospective observational research included 50 subjects with AIS in the middle cerebral artery (MCA) territory who were eligible for r-TPA treatment. Each patient underwent comprehensive neurological …

Background Erectile dysfunction (ED) may be considered an indicator of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Adropin is identified to be accompanied by insulin sensitivity, and lipid metabolism, so we aimed to investigate serum adropin levels in ED cases compared to healthy controls (HC). Methods This case control study included 50 men with ED and and control group of 25 agematched, sexually active healthy men with normal erectile function. Cases group was divided into two groups (25 each) as ED patients with and without type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). Validated Arabic version of International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF)-5 was used to evaluate …

Background: Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) represents a significant global health challenge, with its incidence rising in parallel with the increasing prevalence of cesarean sections (CS). While cesarean hysterectomy is traditionally considered the standard treatment, conservative management offers a fertility-preserving alternative in carefully selected cases. This study aimed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of conservative treatment for PAS at Mansoura University Hospital over a two-year period.
Methods: This retrospective analytical study included 132 women diagnosed with placenta accreta who underwent conservative management. Patient data, including obstetric history, degree of accreta, bleeding episodes, timing of delivery, and the specific uterine-sparing technique …

In children, immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) remains a serious health concern, which is an autoimmune disorder (AID) characterized by an isolated decrease in platelet count, leading to an increased risk of bleeding.
The use of vitamin D supplementation represents a turning point in many autoimmune diseases, with the potential to deliver high cure rates with fewer side effects than previous therapies. In this review, we explore the incidence of ITP , immunopathogenesis, diagnosis and management in pediatric patients. We will discuss the mechanisms of action of vitamin D , focusing on its role in autoimmune diseases especially ITP

Background: The prognosis of patients with advanced-stage epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) having debulking surgery is greatly influenced by optimal resection. Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and CA-125 values are examples of inflammatory markers that have been identified as possible predictive markers.
Objective: This study evaluated neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and CA-125 dynamics as predictors of surgical outcomes and survival in advanced ovarian cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT).
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 171 patients treated at Mansoura University (2020-2025) with platinum-taxane neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by interval debulking surgery (IDS). Pre- …
