Je connais la nidification d’un certain nombre d’especes de Megachiles, habitant le centre de la France. Pour toutes elle est analogue, que les cellules soient construites dans la terre ou sous une galerie creusee dans du bois tendre. Ce sont des cellules plus ou moins nombreuses places bout a bout et faites avec des fragments de feuilles. Rarement il y a deux series de cellules cote a cote. Bysson begins the discussion with a general discussion of the nests of Megachile. They place their nests in various places (cavities). The nests are always constructed of pieces of leaves – oval ones on the walls and discs (small) forming partitions between cells and bottom. The recent great development of the beet sugar industry in the State of Utah, has made the matter of utilizing the sugar beet pulp an important question for Utah farmers. That beet pulp has a high feeding value, when fed in proper combinations, has been shown conclusively since the establishment of the first beet sugar factory in the State, ten years ago. The experience of other states, and of the beet sugar producing countries of Europe, has likewise demonstrated that beet pulp may be used profitably in the feeding of farm animals. There are in Utah many lands that will not, for many years to come, be brought under irrigation; and there are many others that probably will never be irrigated. These are usually high-lying lands, often far from large streams, to irrigate which, would require the construction of exceptionally costly reservoirs, dams, and canals. On A Coccidium (Klossiella Muris, Gen. Et Spec. Nov.) Parasitic In The Renal Epithelium Of The Mouse, Theobald Smith, Herbert P. Johnson

In 1889, Smith published a preliminary description of a polysporous coccidium found in the epithelium of the convoluted tubules of the mouse's kidney. Several stages of the parasite were seen but the scantiness of the material left many gaps in the life-cycle. During investigations recently made to determine the mode of transmission of the Sarcosporidium of the mouse, Smith found a considerable number of gray mice, caught in the animal room connected with this laboratory, whose kidneys were abundantly invaded by this coccidium. This favorable opportunity of examining more thoroughly into the life-history of this sporozoon was utilized, and, as …
