The rapid advancement of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has transformed library operations and increased the need for continuous professional development among library professionals. This study examines the impact of ICT on professional development, job satisfaction, and work efficiency among Library and Information Science (LIS) professionals working in law college libraries of Karnataka.

A descriptive survey method was employed, and data were collected through a structured questionnaire from 221 library professionals working in 171 law colleges. A total of 192 valid responses (86.87%) were received and analyzed using descriptive statistics, mean scores, Chi-square tests, and one-way ANOVA.

Knowledge organization (KO) systems such as the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) structure human knowledge primarily through disciplinary subject relationships, leaving the subjective, experiential dimension of knowledge engagement largely unexamined. This conceptual study extends David Gamez's (2018) distinction between "online" (environmentally-coupled) and "offline" (environmentally-decoupled) bubbles of experience into Library and Information Science (LIS), proposing that DDC's ten main classes can be interpreted as differing in the dominant mode of conscious engagement they require. Drawing on Integrated Information Theory, Global Workspace Theory, and Default Mode Network research, the study maps each DDC class onto this experiential spectrum and examines the cognitive capacities …

Museum catalog records make large collections searchable, but they do not always preserve the reasoning behind the claims they contain. A record may present a quilt's identity as settled while leaving the reasoning behind that claim invisible, making it difficult for later researchers to check, question, or reuse. This project asks whether museum catalog data can be analyzed in a way that keeps each analytical claim connected to the evidence that supports it. To test this question, the project applies a material-first computational framework named Ethos. Purpose: This study explored the experiences of librarians involved in cataloguing academic resources and examined the challenges they face in public university libraries in the Volta Region of Ghana.

Methods: A qualitative research approach was adopted to gain in-depth insights into librarians’ lived experiences. The study was conducted at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) Library and Ho Technical University (HTU) Library. School librarians occupy a unique position within schools, interacting across all stakeholder groups and serving as a conduit between students, teachers, administrators, and the broader learning community. Over the last two years, national and regional PID strategies, including the US National PID Strategy, have helped communities to adopt and integrate persistent identifiers into research workflows. These strategies have highlighted a crucial next step: reaching a shared understanding of what actually constitutes a PID.

Building on the momentum of these strategies, NISO and RDA-US have launched a working group to develop a formal standard defining the characteristics of a persistent identifier system. This standard will help funders, institutions, infrastructure providers, and policymakers make consistent decisions about which identifiers to mandate, support, and integrate into workflows. This study examined how social media is impacting service delivery by the library personnel in two universities of Ogun State, Nigeria. A descriptive survey design, correlational type was followed and a total enumeration sampling technique was applied to get all 105 members of the library staff from the two selected universities. Data were gathered using a structured questionnaire, which was developed to capture the social media patterns of users and service delivery. Libraries and research offices are increasingly tasked with making sense of unstructured institutional data, such as research publications and strategic documents. These insights help inform decision-making and leadership planning. This session shares how SMU Libraries leveraged BERTopic, an open-source topic modeling tool, together with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude, to extract meaningful insights from faculty publications and support institutional sensemaking.

In one use case, we applied BERTopic to university-authored publications to surface thematic groupings related to research about Asia. Generative AI tools were then used to summarize each cluster into human-readable narratives, enabling research landscape mapping, identification …

This field report examines the development and evaluation of a communications strategy for an academic university library’s multi-year Collection Rightsizing Effort. Recognizing that weeding projects often provoke stakeholder concerns around transparency and consultation, the project team adopted best practices from the Weeding Communications in the Collections Lifecycle Project Communications Matrix framework, developed by a subgroup of the joint Rosemont/ Partnership Communications and Advocacy Working Group, to guide and assess communication practices. The Texas Tech University (TTU) Digital Scholarship Lab (DSL) often collaborates on digitization projects with the Southwest Collection (SWC) archives. Within the past three years the DSL has branched out to new sources of projects, including university research institutions, other colleges and departments, and Lubbock community entities. At times, these partnerships became entangled with the SWC’s collecting goals, resulting in the need for expanded and more effective communication about integrated project management. This article presents an information literacy workshop designed for undergraduate history courses that introduces students to generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) while strengthening primary source literacy. Anchored in the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education, “Authority Is Constructed and Contextual,” the workshop employs an innovative pedagogical device, the Spectrum of Authority, to help students critically evaluate information sources. Through comparative analysis and guided discussion, students increased their ability to assess credibility in information sources. This article offers a critical synthesis of scholarship on critical information literacy (CIL) in higher education from 2015 to 2026, extending and recalibrating prior longitudinal reviews to account for post-2020 theoretical, political, and technological shifts. Drawing on a corpus of 48 peer-reviewed publications published between 2020 and 2026, the study employs thematic cluster analysis—building on Tewell’s four-domain framework—to examine developments in theory, pedagogy, digital and political engagement, reflexive critique, and assessment.
