As the nation’s state legislatures increasingly decide the issues that affect citizens most directly, the ability to identify, track, and understand state legislation is key to successful advocacy efforts. While all state legislative websites provide the status and authoritative text of the bill, this may be insufficient to understand what the bill seeks to do and why the change is being proposed. To find plain English summaries and necessary context and background information on proposed bills, advocates may also need to find appropriate news sources and identify key stakeholders—those who care the most about the bill or are the most …

Who Falls For Online Misinformation: Examining The Cognitive Correlates Of Vulnerability To Misinformation, Sanjay Kumar Chhetri

As misinformation sweeps across the digital world, there is a need to better understand the psychological processes that underlie belief and susceptibility to online misinformation. The present study measured vulnerability to misinformation through a proxy construct of verifying online information. Using path modeling, we investigated how cognitive styles, as assessed by the Cognitive Reflection Test, predicted the extent individuals verify online information and content. The path model also investigated the mediating role of conspiracy mentality and pseudo-profound bullshit receptivity. This semi-autobiographical essay explores the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on academic libraries and in particular, information literacy instruction. In exploring the ethical implications of AI and the importance of (re)imagining how AI will affect labor in academic libraries, the author utilizes sociological and historical approaches. The author also reflects on the parallels between past and current technological disruptions and transformations.

This article critically examines the complex interactions between Javanese identity, colonial influence, and karawitan (traditional Javanese music) through an autoethnographic methodology. By introducing the innovative concept of the ‘body as archive,’ the research explores how embodied experiences function as repositories of cultural memory and resistance. It deconstructs colonial interventions in karawitan, uncovering how documentation, standardization, and systematic recording processes altered the transmission and cultural significance of the art form. The research traces the transition from oral traditions to written documentation, highlighting the commodification of Javanese artistic expressions and the emergence of cultural stereotypes. This research focuses on translation and language errors discovered in English-Indonesian translation results. This study aims to investigate the types of errors mostly made by Indonesian novice translators. The data were obtained from translation practice assigned to undergraduate students, who were taking the compulsory basic translation course. The respondents, who were native Indonesian speakers, were asked to translate two paragraphs from a given text in class for one hour and send their translations to the raters via email. The raters then marked the errors in the students’ translations using the 2021 ATA’s Standardized Framework for Error Marking. The results of …

As a result this study investigated use of online information resources and academic staff research productivity. A survey research design was used, in which the population consist of academic staff in public universities in Ogun State. Proportionate random sampling technique was used to select 158 respondents that represented the sample size. SPSS was used for data analyses, using percentage, means and standard deviations. Information-seeking has long been the subject of theoretical modeling, often drawing from cognitive, behavioral, computational, and even evolutionary perspectives to explain how individuals navigate, filter, and utilize information. Several dominant frameworks—Carol Kuhlthau’s Information Search Process, Marcia Bates’ Berrypicking Model, Peter Pirolli & Stuart Card’s Information Foraging Theory, Kiyohiko Nakamura’s Information Criteria framework, and Ian Ruthven’s Information Shaping Theory —have provided structured ways of understanding how people interact with information environments. However, while these frameworks offer valuable insights, they often operate within mechanistic or efficiency-driven paradigms, which risk overlooking the complex, embodied, and socioculturally situated nature of human information behaviors. This study investigates the perceptions of artificial intelligence (AI) among undergraduate construction management students who are poised to become future leaders in the construction industry. As the industry increasingly adopts AI technologies to enhance project planning, design, site management, and safety, understanding students’ attitudes toward these innovations becomes crucial. This research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative survey data with qualitative data to capture the students’ insights on AI’s potential applications, benefits, and challenges within the construction sector. Access to relevant information resources play a critical role in fostering learning environment. Prior investigation showed that there is a dearth of research on the use of electronic information resource amongst academic staff in universities. Previous studies also focused on electronic information resource use by students.
