The study seeks to illustrate the most current trends in digital library research via the use of scientometrics. The study of scientific networks is important in many scientific domains. A social network with many nodes and connections serves as the foundation for scientific network research. Nodes include authors, publications, and journals, while linkages include citations, cocitations, and coauthorship. Data was collected from the Scopus abstracting and citation database for the period of ten years from 2012 to 2021. The study aimed to determine the information resources provided to remote clients by the distance education academic libraries in Gauteng Province of South Africa during the COVID-19 pandemic. The positivism research paradigm anchored this paper and used the quantitative research approach. Microsoft Form was used to design the questionnaire to collect data from the academic library staff. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for data analysis. Cluster sampling was adopted as the actual number of the target population was not known. The aim of the study is to investigate the use of social media by the engineering students at Nellore dist in Andhra Pradesh. The study adopted survey method and a structured questionnaire as a tool for collection of data. The findings reveal that significant differences observed in the amount of time spent by male and female respondents and the different age groups of respondents using social media in a day. There are many controversies surrounding the use of animals for food, and we have observed that veterinary students are interested in deeper consideration of the ethical, moral, and practical implications associated with animal agriculture. Guided by the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education, we developed a discussion-based course focused on the complex issue of consuming animal products to provide practice in seeking and critically evaluating sources.

This final report from the JMU Libraries and Furious Flower Poetry Center to the Mellon Foundation describes in detail the activities undertaken as part of a 2020-2021 planning grant, “Furious Flowerings: Developing a Partnership Model for Digital Library Support of a Living Center for Black Poetry,” funded by the Mellon Foundation. This study examined the influence of marketing on use of library services by postgraduate students in two federal universities in Nigeria. Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The population comprises of 12,386 master degree student and 122 library personnel at University of Ibadan and University of Ilorin, Nigeria. The multi-stage sampling technique was used to select the sample size of 326 master’s degree students and total enumeration sampling technique was used for the library personnel. The use of E-resources has become a way of life. Seeking nutrition information has been seen to be directly related to wellness. The objective of the study was to assess and ascertain the use of the Internet and digital information seeking among students and professionals. The study also aimed to assess the preference of allopathic therapy over home remedies among the respondents. 275 respondents- 155 students and 120 professionals residing in Chandigarh Tricity were assessed. The usability of e-resources and services contributes to library patrons’ use and satisfaction with them, which in turn affects library employees’ acquisition, provision of access, administration, support, and evaluation of e-resources. Librarians can integrate usability into the e-resource lifecycle in a variety of places and using numerous methods. This presentation provides an introduction to usability testing, highlights two usability case studies involving e-resources, and discusses how librarians might fruitfully incorporate usability methods throughout the e-resource lifecycle.

Increased diversity, demographics, and population shifts in higher education have led many academic libraries to reexamine their marketing efforts and adopt strategies that promote relationships and inclusivity. This requirement has become more prominent among libraries serving a highly diverse user community, particularly in a more racially and ethnically diverse campus. Adopting a marketing model that cultivates more meaningful long-term relationships with customers ensures long-term satisfaction and loyalty to the library brand. Using marketing and promotional examples from the James White Library, this article addresses the academic library’s relationship marketing strategy in an increasingly multicultural higher education environment.

In July of 1959, he was appointed Chief of the Department of Radiology of the Atomic Bomb Casualty Commission. Problematic Expectations: Using Close Reading To Surface Emotional Labor In School Librarian Job Postings, Alexandra Grimm

Although emotional labor—defined as the process(es) by which a worker manages their feelings in order to produce the desired emotional response in a customer—has been studied in various fields and specific domains of librarianship, this topic has yet to be examined in school librarianship. In this exploratory article, I perform a close reading of school librarian job postings to surface expectations of emotional labor and explicate connections to the feminized history of librarianship. The article closes with a call to action, outlining steps for administrators and researchers to prevent the potential harms of emotional labor in school librarianship.

The increased usage of libraries during the Covid-19 pandemic has been well known to science communicators, but scientific communication has not evaluated the distributions of its published findings. Thus, this study intends to identify and map library services in international publishing, particularly the Scopus database during the pandemic. Sixty-four publications in the Scopus database were assessed using the bibliometric approach and fifty-seven documents are considered. When the Public Library Association holds its 2022 conference in Portland March 23-25, those overseeing the event will include Stephanie Chase, an association board member and the executive director of the Libraries of Eastern Oregon.

About one-third of libraries in eastern Oregon are staffed with just one person. Still, Chase’s organization, a consortium of 15 rural county libraries, offers access to a bigger collection of materials than people living in the sparsely populated region could previously have dreamed of, including the 66,000 ebooks and audiobooks accessible on a smartphone through OverDrive’s Libby app.

The study investigated the use of social media for academic purposes by postgraduate information studies students on the Pietermaritzburg campus of the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). The study was prompted by the recognition, as reflected in the literature, of problems associated with their use and uncertainty regarding their use in the South African context. The study was underpinned by communication theory. The study also employed a quantitative research design in the form of an online questionnaire using Google Forms. Fifty-five post-graduate students were sampled of which 51 participated, giving a response rate of 93%.
