Twenty years have now passed and still the controversy continues as to whether or not the trials at Nuremberg were in compliance with international law. Although the trials of the major war criminals are now left to the historian, they are still of great importance to the formulation of present international law and are therefore of great interest to the legal profession. The Dominican Crisis: An Examination Of Traditional And Contemporary Concepts Of International Law, John F. Naughton

In late April of 1965 the Dominican Republic became embroiled in internal revolution. On April 25th the Dominican government was toppled by supporters of former Dominican President Juan D. Bosch. For the next three days the pro-Bosch rebel regime demanded the return of the former president. Bosch's return, however, was opposed by units of the Dominican naval and air forces under the command of Dominican Air Force General Elias Wessin y Wessin. The revolution appeared to collapse after heavy fighting in the Dominican capital of Santo Domingo on April 27th. That day the United States Embassy in Santo Domingo announced …

The National Labor Relations Act maintains an encouragement of its "practice and procedure" as a basic policy of the United States. Yet there is a pronounced disparity in atmosphere between many established collective bargaining relationships and industries or regions which are nominally unionized or unorganized. Since Congress has chosen to proscribe a good deal of picketing of an organizational and recognitional nature in the Landrum-Griffin amendments to the act it is quite likely that the grounds for union-management combat will shift in this area somewhat to less specifically regulated …

Appointment Of Non-Lawyer Counsel In Courts-Martial Does Not Violate The Fifth Or Sixth Amendment--United States V. Culp, Michigan Law Review

Defendant, a Marine Corps private, was charged with larceny, and naval officers who were not lawyers were appointed as trial and defense counsel. The accused pleaded guilty to six specifications of larceny, and, upon trial by a special court-martial, was given a bad conduct discharge from the service. The board of review, on its own motion, held the guilty plea improvident and stated that, under the sixth amendment, the accused was entitled to counsel qualified in the law unless he had intelligently waived this right.
