From the viewpoint of the United States, far too much attention was given by many delegates to the political aspects of the articles and too little attention to the legal. Many of the new and the underdeveloped States adopted the position that rules established before they were able to influence their formulation should be changed as a matter of progress. They viewed some aspects of freedom of the high seas as a fiction invented by the maritime nations to rob them of their living resources off their coasts.

Federal Control In The Food And Drug Industries, Thomas W. Christopher

If the attention or lack of attention law reviews give to a subject is indicative of the amount of governmental control therein, then one would conclude that there is little federal regulation in the food and drug fields. The fact is, however, that there are more than 1,200 pages of federal statutes and administrative regulations affecting the food and drug industries, and no industry is more tightly controlled. The antitrust, securities, and labor statutes, for example, are, if anything, less stringent.

Artificial insemination has found its place, or at least its beginning, in American society. It has not yet found its niche in American law. This comment is an attempt to indicate and speculate just what that niche would be under the present cases, statutes, and policies of the Washington court and legislature.
