United States Multinational Corporations: The Impact Of Foreign Direct Investment On United States Foreign Relations, Clarke N. Ellis
United States Multinational Corporations: The Impact Of Foreign Direct Investment On United States Foreign Relations, Clarke N. Ellis
San Diego Law Review
This Article first provides a definition of MNCs and gives an idea of the scope of foreign direct investment (FDI). Next, the economic and political impact of FDI on both the United States (home country) and the host countries is examined. National perceptions of the economic and political effects of FDI are, in turn, important determinants of the foreign investment policies of host countries and the United States, and these policies are briefly discussed. The interaction of these sometimes complementary, sometimes conflicting foreign investment policies demonstrates the impact of FDI and U.S. foreign relations. The conclusion suggests that the ability …
Some Suggestions For Nonurgent Reforms In The Ucc's Treatment Of Accommodation Parties, James A. Martin
Some Suggestions For Nonurgent Reforms In The Ucc's Treatment Of Accommodation Parties, James A. Martin
University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform
Anyone who has studied those provisions of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC or Code) that deal with accommodation parties-chiefly Sections 3-415, 3-416, and 3-606-knows a certain amount of despair at trying to decipher the meaning of these provisions. Report On The Enforcement Of The Prohibition Laws Of The United States, Albert E. Sawyer
Michigan Law Review
An attempt will be made in this comment to state the important points in the Report, and to bring together the scattered references to the various groups of information contained in the third collection now being printed by the Senate and to outline very briefly in an appendix the principal relationships between this and the Commission's report. This last is offered in the hope that it may stimulate interest in a closer analysis of this mass of very useful information which might otherwise suffer neglect, not only because of its bulk, but also because of its lack of organization.
