Antitrust Law-Bar Associations' Minimum Fee Schedules Held Not To Violate The Sherman Antitrust Act
University of Richmond Law Review
The Sherman Antitrust Act attempted to eliminate all price fixing and to establish free competition as the cornerstone of this nation's economic policy. Nevertheless, Congress soon excluded farm and labor organizations from the Act's operation, and judicially created exclusions were established, such as the state action exemption and the learned profession exemption. Today antitrust exemptions are numerous6 and involve a considerable portion of the economy.

Christian Theories Of Professional Responsibility, Thomas L. Shaffer
Christian Theories Of Professional Responsibility, Thomas L. Shaffer

Consideration of the religious and moral significance of legal practice is a subject to which too little attention has been paid in American legal education. Louis M. Brown has been one of those few engaged in the teaching of law who has explored the ethical components of lawyering; his example has been a great influence on many of us. It seems appropriate, therefore, in this tribute to Louis M. Brown, to consider the role which Christian values may play in producing lawyers who are well-developed in interpersonal as in professional skills.
This essay will seek to relate Christian values to …

Despite these suggestions, the problem of what constitutes adequate notice continues to plague juvenile courts. Furthermore, by suggesting two criminal and two civil cases as examples, the Court added the issue of whether a civil or a criminal standard for notice should be applied. Courts that have addressed this issue have reached different conclusions.

The "no fault divorce" revolution continues apace. Since publication of Professor Fox's and my survey of non fault divorce legislation in the Journal of Family Law in the summer of 1973, seven more states have amended their divorce laws to provide in some way for non fault divorce. Today more than forty states are in the non fault column.

Lawyers And Professionalism: A Further Psychiatric Perspective On Legal Education, Andrew S. Watson
Lawyers And Professionalism: A Further Psychiatric Perspective On Legal Education, Andrew S. Watson
University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform
In recent years, clinical teaching methods have played an increasingly significant role in the education of this nation's lawyers. With the consequential accumulation of data pertaining to various institutional experiences, it is now worthwhile to explore, from a clinician's perspective, some of the psychodynamics of this educational process as it appears to affect a student's future professional behavior. In addition to such an examination, this article will delineate methods for dealing with the stresses of a lawyer's professional life, suggesting ways in which the attorney may satisfy his goals as well as those of his client. It is hoped that …

Criminal Law Reform In The District Of Columbia, David Aaronson
Scholarly Articles in Law Reviews & Journals
INTRODUCTION: The prospects for meaningful, comprehensive revision of the District of Columbia's substantive criminal laws have improved markedly in recent years. In the most promising of recent political developments, Congress established a Law Review Commission for the District of Columbia in August of 1974 with a broad mandate to give special consideration to revision of the criminal code.' Since jurisdiction to initiate revision of the criminal laws will pass to the District of Columbia Council in January of 1977 pursuant to the Home Rule Act, Congress has substantial incentive to give final approval to a new criminal code within two …

IN March 1971, the Michigan Bar Commissioners appointed a twenty-five-member committee with a directive "to promulgate a recommended revision of the Code of Criminal Procedure codifying existing statutory and case law provisions which, in the judgment of the Committee, should be retained and adding thereto such provisions as the Committee, in its judgment, deems warranted; and to incorporate such recommendations into proposed legislation for submission to the Legislature."' The committee membership included judges, prosecutors, legislators, criminal defense lawyers, law school professors, and representatives of Michigan police and corrections agencies.2 Judge Horace Gilmore served as Chairman, and I served as Reporter.
