Consideration Of Macro-Climatic And Macro-Biotic Change In The Ozark Highlands During Post-Glacial Times, Kenneth W. Cole
Consideration Of Macro-Climatic And Macro-Biotic Change In The Ozark Highlands During Post-Glacial Times, Kenneth W. Cole
Journal of the Arkansas Academy of Science
Climatological, pedological and faunal investigations conducted in the Upper Midwest and the Ozark Highlands indicate that the environment to which man in the Ozarks was adapting over the past 12,000 years has undergone several major shifts, beginning with a cool-moist boreal forest situation followed by a period of warming and aridness resulting in prairie and deciduous forest climaxes and subsequently, in the last 4000-5000 years, change to the pattern reflected by present conditions.

Navajo Pictorial Weaving: Its Past And Present Condition, Dorothy Elizabeth Boyd
Navajo Pictorial Weaving: Its Past And Present Condition, Dorothy Elizabeth Boyd
Art & Art History ETDs
The purpose of this study is to describe and classify a type of Navajo weaving usually termed the pictorial which has never been treated in all aspects by any single author. The term "pictorial" is used in this study to indicate any blanket or rug in which naturalistic motifs or intelligible lettering are used for their decorative or expressive qualities rather than for their ritual connotations or the sole purpose of permanently recording ritual designs such as sandpainting rugs. After reviewing anthropological literature relating to Navajo weaving and culture, extensive study was conducted on pictorials owned by various Southwestern museums. …

A Pilot Study Of Wichita Indian Archeology And Ethnohistory, Robert E. Bell, Edward B. Jelks, W., W. Newcombe
Index of Texas Archaeology: Open Access Gray Literature from the Lone Star State
