Interview With Goldsby Poag Goza, Goldsby Poag Goza, Anna S. Merrill
Rio Grande Valley Oral Histories
Goldsby Poag Goza recounts her family’s move to Mercedes, Texas in 1909, where her father ran a feed store and dairy while her mother taught school and later managed the store. She describes early irrigation projects, the arrival of the railroad, and the U.S. Cavalry’s presence during World War I, which shaped the town’s growth and community life. Her memories include local schools, bandit scares, the Depression’s hardships, and the revival of agriculture through produce shipping innovations. Goza herself became a teacher, married a school superintendent, raised four children, and taught in Mercedes until retiring in 1977, later returning part-time …

Winona Campus Life was a weekly laboratory newspaper produced by the WSU Mass Communciation Department students and printed as a supplement to the Sunday Winona Daily News, which began in September 1983. The newspaper provided coverage of the four institutions of higher education in Winona: Winona State University, St. Mary's University, College of Saint Teresa, and Winona Area Vocational-Technical School. It was created to provide a place for Mass Communcation students to publish their articles and photographs with the idea of generating reader feedback, which is essential in journalism education.

The Prehistoric Sites At Choke Canyon Reservoir, Southern Texas: Results Of Phase Ii Archaeological Investigations, Grant D. Hall, Thomas R. Hester, Stephen L. Black
Index of Texas Archaeology: Open Access Gray Literature from the Lone Star State
Reported in this volume are the results of archaeological investigations at 72 prehistoric sites located in the basin of Choke Canyon Reservoir on the Frio River in Live Oak and McMullen Counties, southern Texas. The sites investigated in this study will be affected in one way or another by a lake formed after construction of Choke Canyon Dam, a project of the United States Bureau of Reclamation CUSBR). The research was sponsored by the USBR as the second and final phase of a two-stage program of archaeological investigations designed to mitigate damage or destruction of cultural resources resulting from dam …

Index of Texas Archaeology: Open Access Gray Literature from the Lone Star State
During the summer of 1982 the eastern half of Lyndon B. Johnson State Historical Park was surveyed and sites tested. The work was sponsored by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and performed by Center for Archaeological Research and the Division of Behavioral and Cultural Sciences, The University of Texas at San Antonio. The Principal Investigator was Joel D. Gunn. The field work was conducted by the field course in archaeology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Members (listed in the Acknowledgments section) of the Anthropology Laboratory class assisted the Principal Investigator with laboratory analysis. Most of the …
