Winona Campus Life

Winona Campus Life was a weekly laboratory newspaper produced by the WSU Mass Communciation Department students and printed as a supplement to the Sunday Winona Daily News, which began in September 1983. The newspaper provided coverage of the four institutions of higher education in Winona: Winona State University, St. Mary's University, College of Saint Teresa, and Winona Area Vocational-Technical School. It was created to provide a place for Mass Communcation students to publish their articles and photographs with the idea of generating reader feedback, which is essential in journalism education.

This article is adapted from a talk given by Mrs. Rhena Schweitzer Miller in which she talks about her father, Albert Schweitzer. Specifically, she talks about her father's view of the nuclear arms race of the mid-twentieth century between the Soviet Union and the United States. She puts Albert's thoughts in context to his overarching philosophy, called the "Reverance for Life."
