Ben Milam In History And Legend, Joseph Patrick Sanchez
History ETDs
Benjamin Rush Milan (1788-1835) is one of the many Texas notables who achieved a legendary status. Milam participated in the Empresario System, as well as in the Mexican Revolution of 1810 and the Texas Revolution. He first appeared in Texas as a trader; later he ventured into Texas as a leader in the James Long Expedition in 1819. Milam was active in the affairs of Texas until his untimely death at the successful siege of San Antonio. With his death, Milam emerged as a symbolic figure in legend, literature and history. Research was done, over a period of some fifteen months, through a series of court records and transcripts, interviews, newspapers, observations, books, and other sources related to this topic. It should be pointed out, that in as many cases as possible, this author attempted to determine the …

Soviet-U.S. Relations 1917-1957, As Reflected In Soviet Anti-American Graphic Propaganda, William Frederick Alsop Jr.
Graduate Thesis Collection
The present study is an attempt to bring into focus one of the many bases of party power over Soviet citizens. It is no great revelation that the Soviet government has long indulged in anti-American propanda, but the continuity, elaboratness and virulence of ths "crusade of hatred" demands further study. It is essential that such study be undertaken parallel with an appraisal of Soviet-American relations since 1917.
In outlining the chronological development of anti-American libel campaign, some space will be devoted to methodology, technology and apparent purposes of the Soviet propagandists. Space limitations preclude an elaborate study of Soviet propaganda …
