Letter From Bruno Schweizer To The Ss Race And Settlement Main Office, June 8, 1937, Bruno Schweizer

Bruno Schweizer

Bruno Schweizer outlines proposals for further research in the 7 and 13 communities, including collection of sagas and history texts, creation of a magazine in the Cimbrian language, collection of photographs with a focus on racial biology, mapping of local place names, collection of spoken recordings, networking with local community members for further folk studies, ancestry, racial biology and history research. He proposes a trip with no more than 3-4 participants to avoid attracting too much attention and cites the need for Italian language fluency and transportation requirements.

Italian Fascism, Elmer A. Plischke Jun 1937

Italian Fascism, Elmer A. Plischke

Bachelors’ Theses

We choose Italy for our study, because she is the mother of this phenomenon -- Fascism having originated in Italy -- and because Fascism received its name by and from that country. Wherever necessary, we will, for the purpose of elucidation, make allusions to and draw comparisons with the forms of Fascism existing in other countries. The purpose of this paper, then, is to make a searching inquiry into the institutions of the Italy of today as compared with the pre-Fascist Italy, so that we will be enabled to determine the true nature of Fascism.

Recommendation Letter For Bruno Schweizer From Karl Alexander Von Müller, April 9, 1936, Karl Alexander Von Muller

Bruno Schweizer

K.A. von Müller describes Bruno Schweizer's work at the South-Southeast Institute of the University of Munich and his focus on dialect and folk studies. He emphasizes Schweizer's knowledge and organizing skills and states that Schweizer only left the Institute due to its refocusing on ethnopolitical questions requiring knowledge of southern Slavic, Hungarian and Romanian languages. A strong recommendation, presumably written to the Ahnenerbe.

A History Of The Indian Missions Of The Presbyterian Church In Kansas, David Harold Mccleave May 1935

A History Of The Indian Missions Of The Presbyterian Church In Kansas, David Harold Mccleave

Master's Theses or Doctor of Nursing Practice

The beginnings of the missionary activity of the Presbyterian Church date back to the colonial days of the eighteenth century. In point of American historical chronology, the missionary work of the Presbyterians among the Indians in what is now Kansas, southwestern Missouri and east central Oklahoma was inaugurated in the same decade that witnessed the War of 1812. It was my original intention to confine, this research to a consideration of the Indian missions established by the Presbyterian Church in that part of the Indian Territory which has now become the State of Kansas. There were five such mission stations …

The Black Prince In France, Walter Charles Kitzerow Apr 1935

The Black Prince In France, Walter Charles Kitzerow

Bachelors’ Theses

When in 1337 the One Hundred Years' War no longer contented itself with casting dark shadows before, but actually reached its inception, he who was to become the most prominent figure in the conflict was, as yet, a lad of only eight years. Very likely no one but the boy himself, later to become known as the Black Prince, entertained the thought that he would play a conspicuous part in the struggle.

The Fench Writers In The Seventeenth Century: The Literary Works Of Corneille Converted And Stabilized The French Language, Bernard Raphael May 1932

The Fench Writers In The Seventeenth Century: The Literary Works Of Corneille Converted And Stabilized The French Language, Bernard Raphael

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

This thesis, submitted to Xavier University in partial fulfillment of requirements for a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1932, argues that the literary work of Pierre Corneille converted and stabilized the French language during the seventeenth century. It surveys the major literary institutions and figures shaping French letters during this period, including the Salon de Rambouillet and its role in refining literary taste, and the founding of the French Academy under Richelieu and its work compiling the French dictionary. Corneille's development of French classical tragedy is examined in detail, particularly through "Le Cid," with attention to his treatment of the …

A History Of The Secularization Of The Missions Of California, Mervyn V. Miller Jan 1932

A History Of The Secularization Of The Missions Of California, Mervyn V. Miller

University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations

The characteristic attitude of the major portion of native Californians toward the California Missions is one of innocent, ignorant acceptance combined with but little interest or concern. By this I mean that the Missions are accepted as forming part of the Historical beauty of the State of California, but the pa- sons for this belief are not known--nor the reasons for the fact that these old adobe churches moulded an older generation into a foundation stone upon which rests the present glory of a State unsurpassed in scenic or historic grandeur they exist, hence they were..

Report Of The Curriculum Conference Held At Rollins College, January 19-24, 1931, John Dewey Jan 1931

Report Of The Curriculum Conference Held At Rollins College, January 19-24, 1931, John Dewey

Books about Rollins College and Winter Park

In January 1931, Rollins hosted a Curriculum Conference, with the distinguished educator John Dewey as chairman. Leading educators gathered to discuss a number of matters, including core curricula, general education and purpose of a bachelor’s degree as a whole. The resulting recommendations–which emphasized "Individualization in Education"–were implemented by Rollins in the fall of 1931. So provocative were these innovations that Sinclair Lewis, in his Stockholm address accepting the Nobel Prize in literature, listed Rollins as one of only four colleges in the United States doing the most to encourage creative work in contemporary literature.
