The Labors Of Friars Minor In New Mexico, Florian B. Zuchowski
The Labors Of Friars Minor In New Mexico, Florian B. Zuchowski
Bachelors’ Theses
New Mexico is a century older in European civilization, and several centuries older in a semicivilization of its own, than any other part of the United States. It had its walled cities of stone long before the time of Columbus, and has some of them yet. Romantic as it is in itself, with its vast adobe buildings, its abrupt mountains, its canyons, its mesas, its gaunt, treeless plains, its intense blue sky, and over all its oriental sunlight, it is no less romantic in its history of the Spanish conquest, recording superhuman marches of the soldiers, sudden and overwhelming rebellions …

French Indo-China In Its Relation To American Trade Expansion In The Orient, Edgar Theiler
Bachelors’ Theses
This thesis seeks to accomplish three main purposes: First, to show the need of America for new markets; second, to encourage American trade in the Orient; and, third, to submit a plan whereby the United States could acquire French Indo-China and establish an entrepot in the Far East for American foreign trade. The plan proposed is a complete and unconditional transfer of French Indo-China to the United States as payment for the French war debt and accrued interest. In the analysis of the financial situation of France, much stress has been laid on the reference: "The French Debt Problem"-by H. …

Social Effects Of The American Occupation Of The Philippines, Pedro Catuncan

I have disregarded all speculations for and against any measures , fearing that they might hinder me in arriving at a fair conclusion about the Philippines .
Sarcenic Civilization In The Middle Ages, Helene M. Ahern
Sarcenic Civilization In The Middle Ages, Helene M. Ahern
Bachelors’ Theses
Of all the older nations who have carried their arms across vast continents, whose fleets have swept the seven seas, and who have left ineffaceable marks of their achievements on the pages of History, and enriched the world of thought by their discoveries and speculations, the Sarcens stand to us the nearest in time. The modern world is still working with the legacy they left behind, with the intellectual wealth they stored for their successors. It is, therefore a matter of regret that in the West a knowledge of their history should be so limited and more than this, that an entirely unfounded and …
