In the past several years and especially after the COVID-19 outbreak, recruiting and retaining students has become more challenging than ever before. Even before the pandemic, there has been an increased pressure for colleges and universities to be able to demonstrate tangible educational benefits. This has been especially valid for liberal arts institutions and theatre programs since they are considered to be “less practical and useful.” Often students and their parents focus more on securing jobs rather than exploring interests and passions and seem unable to see the connection between theatre education and other careers.

Items include ephemera and other unique items, including a Marshall "M" Patch, a Registrar Stamp from Marshall College, a reusable static cling decal, Medallions, a Brooch of Mary Scales Hite and John Laidley, among other unique-to-Marshall items. “Digital By Necessity”: An Interview With Dr. Jane Wanninger, Julia Carey Arendell, Jane Wanninger

In the summer of 2020, Dr. Jane Wanninger participated in a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Institute hosted by Agnes Scott College to learn about implementing digital storytelling in the classroom, which ironically, had to be completed digitally due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The article studies the typological aspects in the translation and lexico-semantic transformations used by the translator in the process of working with texts containing culturally loaded vocabulary. The main stages on the way to achieving this goal are the following tasks: 1) to identify the theoretical approaches to the interpretation of the concept of "lexico-semantic transformations" existing in modern linguistics; 2) to study the features of the transformation of culturally marked vocabulary in translations from Uzbek into English; 3) to identify the main difficulties that a translator, as a linguistic personality, faces in the process of working on a text …
