Student feedback was used to guide the revisions, which took place over the course of several semesters. Student survey responses to lab manual content were very positive, and students overwhelmingly favored a no-cost online manual over one that is commercially published. The process we used to develop this lab manual serves as an example for others who …

Exploring Quest And Cultural Humility In Relation To The Spiritual Identities Of Doctoral Clinical Psychology Students At A Christian University, Andrew L. Summerer Sep 2017

Exploring Quest And Cultural Humility In Relation To The Spiritual Identities Of Doctoral Clinical Psychology Students At A Christian University, Andrew L. Summerer

Doctor of Psychology (PsyD)

While periods of religious disengagement among clinical psychology graduate students seem to be consistent across research studies, some research suggests positive religious transformation as students progress through clinical training and into their professional careers (Hofer, 2004; Pearce, 1996). Cultural humility is an other-oriented stance that is characterized by lifelong learning, cultural self-awareness and reflection, and interpersonal …

Rising tuition, decreased state funding, and financial pressures are leading to a “death spiral” for public higher education, according to University of Illinois professor Christopher Higgens. In a lecture at Eastern Illinois University earlier this year, Higgens said many taxpayers view higher education as a means to obtain credentials for the job market and view students as interested in the private gain of potential salary. These taxpayers, unfortunately, reject the view of education as a public good.
