Diverse Cross Functional Student Teams: A Teaching Tool For Enhanced Learning, Craig Turner, Keith Johnson, W. Andrew Clark Jun 2004

Diverse Cross Functional Student Teams: A Teaching Tool For Enhanced Learning, Craig Turner, Keith Johnson, W. Andrew Clark

ETSU Faculty Works

Traditional engineering and science teaching methodology has been to train like-minded students within the discipline of their respective majors. Curriculum time constraints, however, limit the number and nature of out of discipline elective courses. The Sound Of Silence: Social Work, The Academy, And Iraq, Scott Harding Jun 2004

The Sound Of Silence: Social Work, The Academy, And Iraq, Scott Harding

The Journal of Sociology & Social Welfare

Despite the imposition of economic sanctions against Iraq in 1990, the social work academy has ignored the impact of this global social policy promoted by the international community. Though evidence existed for more than 10 years that sanctions contributed to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of children and other vulnerable groups in Iraq, while also crippling the nation's health care and social infrastructure, the profession has remained silent. The implications of this case study suggest a need for greater engagement by social work researchers and the profession on global issues.

Science-Based Organic Farming: A Resource For Educators, Charles A. Francis, Mindi Schneider, Brad Kindler Jun 2004

Science-Based Organic Farming: A Resource For Educators, Charles A. Francis, Mindi Schneider, Brad Kindler

Publications from the Center for Applied Rural Innovation (CARI)

Organic farming is an important and growing part of the United States food system. The organic sector has grown by at least 20% per year for the past two decades, and currently shows no indication of slowing in this growth. There is increasing consumer concern about where and how food is produced, and people want to be assured access to safe and healthy food products. Interest and concern about food security, and discussion about the merits of a local food system as compared to the vulnerable globalized marketplace are also becoming increasingly important. In Nebraska we have only limited local …

The Satisfaction And Perspectives Of Recent Graduates Of Accredited Post-Certification Graduate Athletic Training Programs As It Relates To Their Educational Experiences, Jacqueline R. Gaida

Human Movement Studies & Special Education Theses & Dissertations

The purpose of this study was to investigate the satisfaction and opinions of graduate athletic trainings students, who graduated from 2001-2003, as it relates to their programs. A list of graduate names and e-mail addresses from the fourteen accredited graduate programs were acquired through the GRC and the NATA on-line directory.
