JOHNSON CITY (Oct. 8, 2018) – East Tennessee State University’s College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences (CCRHS) recently handed out three Distinguished Alumni awards and inducted three other individuals into the college’s Alumni Hall of Fame. A special ceremony was held earlier this month to recognize the honorees.
The three individuals who received the 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award from the CCRHS are:

DUNE: DigitalUNE, the University of New England's library-managed online repository, archives and provides worldwide access to exemplary work by UNE community members. The MS Applied Nutrition program at UNE has collaborated with DUNE to provide a platform for students to share their academic work with peers and colleagues, and to develop nutrition education resources for practitioners around the world.

Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems
Reaching to young generation and attracting them to computing programs such as Information Systems (IS) and Computer Science (CS) is a key challenge faced by universities in Singapore. During their application process, many high quality students from junior colleges (JC) either don't choose IS program or choose IS program as the last option. School of Information Systems (SIS), Singapore Management University, decided to implement an innovative outreach program to reach and attract high quality JC students. A team of 30 faculty and staff worked on an outreach project to study and analyse the rationale behind the smaller numbers of applicants. …

Informal Advocacy As A Way To Deeper Learning Of Adult Development And Aging Processes, Part 2, Dean D. Vondras
Perspectives In Learning
To enhance engagement and deepen learning in undergraduate courses that focus on adult development and aging, two informal advocacy classroom activities were created and surveyed. The surveys were brief empirical assessments of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) activities, and contained closed- and open-ended questions. Results from Study 2 suggested students’ enjoyment of the informal advocacy discussion and the creation of a public service announcement to be positively associated with survey ratings of increased insight, enhanced understanding, broader awareness, and the gaining of new knowledge about the concerns of older adults. Narrative responses from both studies suggest informal advocacy for older adults to …
