A Joint Action Model For Semi-Enclosed Seas: A First Cut, Arthur W. Tate Jr.
Marine Affairs Theses and Major Papers
Dr. Lewis Alexander of the University of Rhode Island authored a most informative and incisive paper concerning the relationship of regionalism and the Law of the Sea. In this paper Alexander focused on the special case of the semi-enclosed sea and suggested that the potential for joint action of nations surrounding these seas is worthy of special interest and study. Even a cursory review of a geographic atlas reveals that the 25 seas under consideration constitute rather definitive, logical, potential regions. Nations bordering a particular semi-enclosed sea assume at least one commonality immediately-the bordered sea. Such commonality theoretically infers that …

Owing to the construction of a large municipal advanced (tertiary) waste water treatment (AWT) plant, a unique opportunity exists to study the side effects of removal of a major point source of pollution on the estuarine environment of Hillsborough Bay. The data is still in more or less raw form, with little analyses or interpretation attempted to date.

The Prediction Of Lake Huron Lake-Effect Snowfall Systems, Kenneth F. Dewey

Data was collected during the 1971-72 snowfall season for the Lake Huron basin. The bulk aerodynamic approach, as formulated by Priestly, was utilized to estimate the daily average flux of heat and moisture over the lake. It was hypothesized that discriminant analysis could be employed to determine the threshold value (discriminant index) of the energy flux which is necessary for the occurrence of the lake-effect snowfall system. To determine the validity of this threshold value, the discriminant index was applied to a series of historical data. Limnological Observations On A Small River, Donald G. Kaddatz
Journal of the Minnesota Academy of Science
Limnological conditions were studied in the Snake river at Mora, in east-central Minnesota, over a 13- month period. Sampling stations were established above and below the sewage outfall from the city of Mora to assess the river's physical and chemical parameters. Seasonal changes and fluctuations related to discharge flow were observed and recorded.
