It has been hoped that a micropaleontological study of the shales of the Upper Cretaceous Colorado Group in northern Montana would reveal certain faunal zones which would serve as markers in an otherwise drab, undifferentiated, 1800 feet of grey, fissile shale. This paper presents the results of a study of the microfauna in certain samples from this shale in the Sunburst Dome area north of Shelby, Montana.

Now with the American Smelting and Refining Company interested in it, perhaps it will once again become an important producer.

Each of these includes a series of two or more experimental joints of special design, installed in concrete pavement in lieu of the conventional types employed in their respective construction projects.

It was therefore the purpose of this study (1) to evaluate existing sub-channel oscillator circuits seeking first, to improve them; (2) to uncover new ideas, and to incorporate them into a frequency modulated audio oscillator that would satisfactorily fulfill the required specifications; (3) once such a circuit was found, to obtain such refinements as simplicity of alignment, interchangeability of tubes, better frequency stability by utilizing proper mechanical design, and smaller, cheaper parameters without sacrificing performance.

Sulphidization is the usual means used today to increase the recovery of an oxide flotation; however, sulphidization under the most ad­vantageous conditions does not yield very satisfactory re­coveries.

The exact geologic age of the Jefferson limestone in Montana has not been definitely determined, other than it is probably of upper, but possibly in part of middle Devonian age. Although not of immediate or apparent economic importance, the determination of the exact age of the Jefferson limestone may be of much value in connection with the discoveries of large quantities of oil in Devonian strata in the northern Great Plains and, in particular, with the extensive deep drilling in northeastern Montana which is anticipated during the summer of 1951.

Amalgam Metallurgy, a relatively new expression in the technology of metal extraction, was first chosen to describe certain new processes developed at the Duisburg Copper Works in Germany.
