Financial management is essential for the success of projects, where budgeting, forecasting, and cost control are pivotal in reducing financial risks. This research investigates the efficacy of financial management practices across various sectors, pinpointing challenges including budget overruns, stakeholder pressures, and unforeseen costs. Utilizing qualitative research methods and analyzing survey data gathered via Qualtrics, the study reveals the effects of financial limitations, delays in approvals, and the use of digital financial tools on project outcomes.
The results indicate that insufficient budget allocation and poor forecasting practices are significant factors leading to project failures. Conversely, the implementation of financial technologies, including …

Conversational Agents have the potential to support healthcare through coaching exercise routines, but are still lacking in demonstrating authentic social behaviours to support engagement. To this end, we present a series of experiments that we conducted in order to investigate how automated health care coaches can be more effective when their interaction style is tailored to demonstrate qualities associated with a good bedside manner, namely active listening and reassurance. Zinc oxide Nanowires (ZnO-NWs) are promising biosensor materials and hold the key to overcoming challenges in the field. This chapter provides an introductory overview of biosensing technology, focusing on the fundamental principles and comparing ZnO-NWs with other nanostructures regarding the surface area, reactivity, electrical properties, charge transport behavior, optical, magnetic, and piezoelectric properties, and mechanical flexibility. Providing the synthesis and characterization methods, ZnO-NWs’ biosensing processes are also elaborated on surface modification for selectivity, integration with microfluidic systems, enhancing signal transduction, and connecting with biological elements like enzymes, antibodies, and DNA. Predicting and controlling ground vibrations from blasting is crucial for protecting structures and minimizing environmental impacts. This study investigates how explosive quantity and scaled distances affect peak particle velocity and establishes empirical equations to estimate this velocity at different distances from the blast area. The study found that the maximum charge per delay at a peak particle velocity of 10 mm/s was reduced to 13.46% as the delay timing was increased from 0 to 25 ms and 9.99% from 0 to 50 ms delay timing. Reusing treated wastewater for agricultural purposes can provide local benefits to small, rural communities. Additionally, irrigation lagoons can be an attractive wastewater treatment technology in areas with high agriculture demands and low water availability. This descriptive study used stakeholder discussions to identify barriers and benefits of irrigation lagoons. Dissemination materials were developed to help Extension professionals distribute information regarding these systems to the communities they work closely with.

When multicollinearity arises in the inverse Gaussian regression (IGR), there is a substantially unstable variance in the maximum likelihood estimator. Based on the (r-(k-d)) class estimation method, we present a novel Liu-type estimator in the IGR model in this study. The study examines the e ectiveness of the suggested estimator and draws comparisons with alternative estimators. Based on simulation and real data results, the suggested estimate performs better than the other estimators in terms of mean squared error.

Modulation of endothelial traction is critical for the responses of endothelial cells to fluid shear stress (FSS), which has profound implications for vascular health and atherosclerosis. Previously, we demonstrated that under high FSS, endothelial cells rapidly increase traction forces, followed by relaxation, with traction aligning in the flow direction. In contrast, low shear preconditioning induces a modest short-term increase in traction (min), followed by a secondary long-term (>14 hr) rise, with traction/cells aligning perpendicular to the flow. Despite the extensive research by western countries on the song lyrics, almost nothing is known about the evolution of Egyptian song lyrics. The previous studies in the U.S. and U.K. revealed that lyrics were more pessimistic as time passed. In this study, 1891 Egyptian songs from 1920 to 2022 were analyzed using a sentiment analysis tool while searching for offensive words and retrieving their popularity scores from Spotify. The results aligned with those of the other regions in which the negativity of songs and the percentage of songs containing offensive words increased. Enzymes play an essential role in many different industries; however, their operating conditions are limited due to the loss of enzyme activity in the presence of proteases and at temperatures significantly above physiological conditions. One way to improve the stability of these enzymes against high temperatures and proteases is to encapsulate them in protective shells or virus-like particles. This study employs a linear and integer programming approach to optimize HIV resource allocation in Ohio, aiming to minimize new infections and enhance the impact of limited resources. With the advances in HIV prevention and treatment, Ohio faces challenges in addressing disparities in access to healthcare, particularly among high-risk populations. The proposed model integrates data on infection rates, transmission patterns, demographic factors, and cost-effectiveness to provide a decision-support framework for policymakers. Tanks and earthen embankments used for water harvesting and storage have been a significant part of India's irrigation system since the 2nd and 3rd centuries. In Tamil Nadu, around 39,202 tanks have storage capacities of around 178.94 million cubic feet. However, they have been impacted by natural and anthropogenic threats such as soil erosion, siltation, inadequate rainfall, and drought. This study aims to determine the current storage capacity of tanks, estimate the loss in storage capacity/volume of silt, estimate the rate of siltation and life of tanks, identify soil erosion-prone zones, and map deteriorating parameters along supply channels.

The incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is pivotal in automating intricate technical tasks, significantly enhancing accuracy and efficiency while alleviating the burdens of repetitive monitoring traditionally borne by technicians. This study focuses on developing a customized four-probe station integrated with sophisticated AI models aimed at classifying current–voltage () characteristics and extracting essential parameters. Our methodology encompasses the fabrication of precision-engineered gold-plated probes, meticulously assembled with a three-dimensional (3D) moving head to ensure optimal contact and measurement fidelity across a variety of electronic and optoelectronic devices. The demand for phosphorus (P), fueled by the need for fertilizers to increase food production due to the ever-increasing population, is increasing P in the environment and diminishing global reserves of this nonrenewable resource. Stormwater runoff transports land-applied P into surrounding waterbodies. Green infrastructure (GI) soils are being engineered to target P removal from stormwater runoff. This research investigates the potential to recover P from engineered GI soils traditionally developed to remove P, contributing to the circular P economy by considering GI as a source of recoverable P.
