Design And Construction Of An Electronic Gain-Phase Meter, Gabriel G. Skitek Jan 1949

Design And Construction Of An Electronic Gain-Phase Meter, Gabriel G. Skitek

Masters Theses

"There are many communication and electronic circuits, such as filters, phase-shifting networks, matching networks, voltage amplifiers with and without feedback, whose proper usage with associated equipment depends upon the knowledge of the variation with frequency of the voltage ratio and phase angle between the output and input sinusoidal voltages or currents...It is the purpose of this thesis to design and build an electronic instrument that will measure the voltage gain and phase angle between two sinusoidal voltages or current of communication circuits, in such a manner as to aid the student in visualizing how these quantities vary with frequency, and …

Analysis Of Cascade Of Four-Terminal Networks, Ernest Randolph Roehl Jan 1949

Analysis Of Cascade Of Four-Terminal Networks, Ernest Randolph Roehl

Masters Theses

"The object of this thesis is to find analytic expressions for the voltage and current variations along a structure composed of a cascade of identical dissymmetrical four-terminal networks driven harmonically at the sending end and working into an impedance at the receiving end and an impedance that can be placed at any of the junctions along the cascade. The method of analysis that is applied is analogous to that used in solving the long-line problem. A transmission system usually consists of the line or cable itself plus numerous other links whose purpose it is to correct defects in the line …

Design Of A Radio Broadcasting Station, John William Hamman Jan 1948

Design Of A Radio Broadcasting Station, John William Hamman

Masters Theses

"In the design of any piece of equipment, before any work whatsoever is done, a reason for developing the object must be apparent to all concerned. Any expenditure of time, labor and money must be properly justified before action can be taken. In the case of this paper, then, the reason for designing a broadcast radio station for the Missouri School of Mines & Metallurgy at Rolla, Missouri is twofold: First, to provide an additional instrument whereby instruction may be given to students interested in the study of radio; second, to supply the residents of Rolla and vicinity with entertainment …

Study Of The Method Of Geometric Mean Distances Used In Inductance Calculations, Harold Lockwood Seneff Jan 1947

Study Of The Method Of Geometric Mean Distances Used In Inductance Calculations, Harold Lockwood Seneff

Masters Theses

"The object of this thesis is to study the method of geometric mean distances as applied in the calculation of inductances of transmission line conductors and of multicircuit transmission lines. The thesis will consist of: (a) the derivation of some of the basic theorems and equations to be used, (b) the use of these theorems and equations in calculating the geometric mean distances of different transmission line conductors, and (c) practical application of geometric mean distances applied in the calculation of equivalent inductance of multicircuit transmission lines. The method of geometric mean distances as applied to individual conductors of single …

An Acoustical Investigation Of Parker Hall Auditorium At The School Of Mines And Metallurgy Of The University Of Missouri, John Douglas Martin Jan 1935

An Acoustical Investigation Of Parker Hall Auditorium At The School Of Mines And Metallurgy Of The University Of Missouri, John Douglas Martin

Masters Theses

"The auditorium in Parker Hall on the Missouri School of Mines campus has been noted locally for its poor auditory characteristics. At times in the past corrective treatment has been considered but no detailed or experimental data were gathered. In September of 1934 the writer was detailed under an FERA project to study the room and to determine the best method of correction"--Introduction, page 1.

History Of The Thermionic Tube, Mary Liguoria Urbin Mar 1933

History Of The Thermionic Tube, Mary Liguoria Urbin

Bachelors’ Theses

My interest in the field of physics being that of electricity, I have been permitted to pursue this thesis in the field of thermionics.

The thermionic tube is one of vital importance not only in the field of radiotelegraphy and radiotelephony, but is of great value in the field of engineering and a vast asset in university and college laboratories. In fact, its advent has opened up a new era in many fields. H. J. Van Bijl terms is a "versatile talking bottle." In a paper of this nature only the important features can be stressed, and even here much …

Construction Details And General Discussion Of The 10 Watt Radio Telephone Transmitter At The Missouri School Of Mines, Leonard Oliver Williams Jan 1925

Construction Details And General Discussion Of The 10 Watt Radio Telephone Transmitter At The Missouri School Of Mines, Leonard Oliver Williams

Bachelors Theses

"In radio communication it is necessary to have a device to radiate electrical waves and a device to receive electrical waves. Devices used for this purpose are called antennas"--The Antenna, page 1.

The Outdoor Substation, Israel Herrick Lovett Jan 1924

The Outdoor Substation, Israel Herrick Lovett

Professional Degree Theses

"The Outdoor Substation, as an essential part of a high voltage distribution system, has been largely developed during the past 12 years. The New England Power Company was one of the pioneers in this development, their substation at Millbury, Massachusetts, being one of the first outdoor substations in the northern part of the country. During the five years' experience with this company, the writer of this thesis, in his position of Chief Electrical Designer, was partly responsible for the design of all substations constructed by the company during this period, from 1916 to 1921...This thesis is an account of the …
