Comparing Participants In Discipline And Non-Discipline Specific First-Year Seminars: A Study On Student Characteristics, Expectations, And Changes In Major, Caroline Kaufmann Twachtman
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
First-year seminar (FYS) courses tend to focus on preparing students for successful academic and social integration into the college environment. Many of the studies on FYS courses focus on measuring outcomes such as college grades, retention, and graduation rates. While there is notable documentation of several different types of FYS courses, relatively few studies compare the different types of FYS courses. What, if any, differences might there be in the profiles of students who take either type of course? Is there a certain type of student that enrolls in the discipline-specific course, or a certain type of student that enrolls …

Promoting Civic And Community-Based Teaching Practices: An Exploratory Study Of Collaborations Between Faculty Development Centers And Civic And Community Engagement Centers, James Morgan Lewing, Lisa M. Bunkowski
eJournal of Public Affairs
The current study sought to provide an initial exploration into collaborative efforts between faculty development centers and civic and community engagement centers related to the promotion of civic and community-based teaching practices. Chief Academic Officers of public institutions supportive of civic and community engagement were surveyed, and findings provided initial evidence that such collaborations do exist and can be effective. However, the partnerships may often be episodic and informal. Implications for practice and future research are discussed.

Office of Research
When COVID hit, Syracuse University needed a solution to process multi-step approvals – fast. That meant thinking creatively and out of the box because when time, accuracy, and error-free routing are critical, traditional submission systems aren’t ideal. That’s precisely why Syracuse turned to InfoReady. And what the InfoReady platform did so powerfully in streamlining limited submissions also turned out to work well for research travel applications, visiting scholar requests, research identification, and essential research approval.

Maqolada kommunikativ faoliyat turlari, ularni tartibga solish va kommunikativ o'qitish usullari haqida gap boradi. Turli xil o'quv maqsadlariga erishadigan to'rt xil kommunikativ faoliyat turlarining tavsifi mavjud. Ular har xil turdagi vazifalarga eng mos keladi, har xil turdagi o'tirish tartibini talab qiladi va turli xil ijtimoiy munosabatlarni jalb qiladi yoki rag'batlantiradi. Faoliyat davomida guruh a'zolarining eng yaxshi o'tiradigan joylashuvi tartibning muhim xususiyatlarini qo'llab-quvvatlaydi. Har bir o'quvchi o'z ma'lumotlarining o'ziga xosligini saqlab qolgan holda muhim ma'lumotlarni olish uchun boshqalardan teng foydalanish imkoniyatiga ega bo'lishi kerak. All of this provides vital opportunities for participation in life education and sports activities on the front.
