Substitute teaching is an area of tremendous importance in every school system. It is estimated that there is an average daily absence of 10 per cent among regular faculty members. If the substitute teaching program is ineffective, this means that 10 per cent of all classes and class time is wasted. It is essential that a school system have an effective program to provide for the absences of regular teachers so that there will be no appreciable loss in the educational program.

Limited information is available, however, to aid in developing and carrying out a program of internship experiences as one phase of administrative requirements. The purpose of the study was to indicate the importance of the role of the principal in relation to morale. In presenting the material surveyed, the primary area will be the human relationship between the principal and the staff. Since most authorities view this point as the most important single aspect of morale, no outside forces will be dealt with. The study is limited primarily to the role of the secondary principal.

An Analysis Of The Educational Program At The West Virginia Forestry Camp For Youthful Male Offenders, Joseph Martin Hickman

This study revealed that the West Virginia Forestry Camp has in its legal machinery the purpose of rehabilitating male juvenile offenders between the ages of 16 and 21. However, no overt statements of educational objectives were found in the rehabilitative program.
Tests revealed both a low intelligence level and a low grade achievement level among the cases examined.
Questionnaires made known the desire of many of the commitals to take part in vocational training at camp. This means of inquiry also made known the reluctancy of several boys to participate in any portion of the camp program except the work …

Our civilization depends in great measure on the reading process and there is a need for attaining greater skill in reading. Being able to read well has become one criteria for measuring the extent of a person's education. Every year seems to increase the reading demands made upon students as well as adults. Reading was one of the three R's that made up the curriculum of the early schools in our country.
