Legal Liability Of School Principals For Their Torts In Washington State, David Jerome Harbeck

According to the laws of the State of Washington, school districts, administrators, and teachers are liable for all of their torts. Since principals are not immune from tort suits, the purposes of this study were (1) to suggest measures to minimize exposure of principals to tort suits, and (2) to suggest measures of protection against such suits.

The exploratory survey method was used to determine the extent to whole scientific knowledge, related to principles and practices of healthful living, was enhanced during the secondary school education of students attending four Seventh-day Adventist secondary schools in Hong Kong. The tool, in the form of a health knowledge test designed to fit the cultural patterns of the population, was applied to 358 Form I (grade 7) and Form V (grade 11) students of the specified schools. It is the purpose of this study to determine the taxonomy, distribution, and ecology of four species of the genus Microtus and one species of the genus Lagurus found in Kittitas County. The species of Microtus are: Microtus montanus, Montane vole; Microtus oregoni, Creeping Vole; Microtus longicaudus, Long-Tailed Vole and Microtus richardsoni, Water Vole. The species of Lagurus is Lagurus curtatus, Sagebrush Vole.

One of the most serious problems confronting the beginning high school principal is that of teacher evaluation. Currently, teacher evaluation comes reasonably close to being the most discussed subject among educational practitioners. The literature on the topic is multiplying rapidly as people attempt to analyze, delineate, and appraise its various facets. The purpose of this paper is to set forth some guidelines which may prove useful to the beginning high school principal in one of the most important aspects of teacher and staff morale--teacher evaluation.
