An Exploratory Study Of Causes Of Juvenile Delinquency In The Tulare Union High School District, Paul Samuel Longenecker
University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations
Young people, who attend high school. Face many problems these days. Some youth seem able to marshal all the resources necessary to solve and overcome their problems; others seem barely able to hold the line, while a few, who are much publicized, are overcome by their problems. Those who are overcome by their problems, when their behavior takes on anti-social characteristics, are called juvenile delinquents. It may be juvenile delinquency or parental failure. By whatever name it is called, shortcomings are in evidence.
Whenever juvenile delinquency is mentioned in a community, the signal seems to be given to variou groups …

Welfare Organizations Offering Assistance To Children Attending The Battle Creek Public Schools, Donald G. Whitmill
Masters Theses
As the concept of public education broadens, and as the importance of all experiences related to the formation of an individual's total self is realized, the public schools are seen in a new perspective. The public schools become one link, albeit an important link, in a complex, tightly interwoven chain of institutions, organizations, and individuals concerned with the education of the whole child.
The purpose of this study, therefore, is to compile a comprehensive listing of all agencies, institutions, and organizations offering assistance to children enrolled in the Battle Creek, Michigan, Public Schools. This study will make a brief statement …

An Investigation Of The Types Of Speech Programs In California High Schools, Lawrence William Payne Jr.
University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations
Psychologists and leaders in the field of education have pointed out time and again that high school curriculums should be designed not only to teach a group of subjects, but also to meet the needs of a large group of individuals - the students. The boy or girl who spends four years in classes of mathematics, history, English, science, and a lot of other subjects does so not in order to parrot back to a teacher a long list of learned facts, but in order that he may prepare himself to take his place in a society as well adjusted …

University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations
The problem, source of data, and procedure. As a nation grows and the states that compose the nation develop and improve , it is quite natural that the leaders, especially tile loaders in education, become concerned if there are many of the youth leaving school before they have gained the knowledge to help them cope with the stress and strain of the world about them. The problem of the school drop-outs has been of concern to educators since the beginning of our secondary schools . In California this problem has increased with the tremendous influx of population and from all …
