Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
I shall approach this study, both from a survey of the vocation that the students have followed when out of school, and by what they have recommended to be offered in high school. By listing the subjects most needed when out in life, and also a list of the subjects that they would take, should they have their high school days to go over again, should help us to determine just what curriculum to offer.

It is usually recognized that, in the broad sense, our public schools are maintained for the instruction of children and youth. Moreover, there appear to be three important factors which bear directly upon the nature of this instruction: (1) the individuals who enter the teaching profession, the kinds of people they are, their physical, emotional and mental characteristics or capacities; (2) the kind of education these potential educators receive in preparation for their professional work; and, (3) the actual teaching assignment the individual receives in the particular school where he is employed. It is a well-known fact that for several decades educators have been trying to place the educational profession on as scientific a basis as possible.1 One outgrowth of this effort has been the “educational measurement movement.” This movement has involved widespread attempts to use objective techniques in solving educational problems, objective measures in obtaining educational data, and to use the data thus obtained as a basis for organizing educational plans and procedures. The importance attached to this trend has led, in some cases, to an undue, and occasionally, distorted …

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
The child is the reason for the school. He is the one for whom learning experiences are provided. Our understanding of the child as a growing individual and as a learner, his personality and his purposes and interests, supply the foundation for developing an effective educational program.
No longer do we look at the education program as a sole preparation for some future life. Instead it has now become more a process whereby we make the most of present living in order that we might live a more full and rich life each day. Education is something that goes on …

International Journal for Business Education
This initiative documents the preservation and digital release of the organization’s historical print archives, representing decades of scholarship in international business education.
