Being a new industry in this part of the country (1924 was probably the beginning) not much is known concerning the facts of the business by the average person. In the following pages an economic discussion of the factors of this industry will be given. To begin with a short history of the fur industry and fur farming is given, to give perspective and background, as it is only through the history of the past that we are able to judge the future.

But as a producer of wealth, the mining industry exceeds agriculture. The total annual value of Utah farm products is about $39,000,000 while the total output from the mines is valued at $82,663,000.
