Translation Its Role In Communication And Learning, Eileen Rizo-Patrón Jan 1985

Translation Its Role In Communication And Learning, Eileen Rizo-Patrón

MA TESOL Collection

This paper is presented in two sections. The purpose of Part One is to explore the nature and role of translation in communication, and to dispell the narrow conception of it as a mechanical process of "synonym finding." An example of poetic translation from Spanish into English is then presented to explore the truth of this …

Pre and post writing assignments were blind rated at the end of the experiment using the Diederich Rating Scale. Individual item scores …

A Writing Curriculum For Grade Five Using Literary Models, Virginia Ann Smith

Theses

Three major areas of concern influenced this writer's decision to investigate writing and develop a writing curriculum for fifth grade children based on the use of literary models as springboards for writing .

Recognition of the importance of adequate writing skills in order to participate in various functions of our society provided the first area of concern.
