Master's Theses

This thesis comprises poems written and/or revised over the past two years. They mark the development of my aesthetic and writing ability thus far and are representative of the training and practice incited by my own efforts and those of my professors during my enrollment in the Master of Arts degree in English, Creative Writing emphasis. The majority of these poems are written in an open form, and all of them fall under three general categories: autobiographical, absurdist, or formal.

Joyce Carol Oates's new novel is Foxfire: Confessions of a Girl Gang (William Abrahams/Dutton, 1993). Her play The Perfectionist will open the McCarter Theatre 1993-94 season in October. The Rehearsal had its premier performance in the spring at the Ensemble Studio Theatre in Manhattan.

"Near Sequoia movie theatre in downtown Mill Valley, in the space now occupied by Champagne French Bakery, I shared many lunches with the late, great Marin County writer Gina Berriault. Earl G. Ingersoll has edited a collection of interviews with Doris Lessing, which OR Press will be publishing this spring. He teaches at SUNY College in Brockport, New York. Doris Lessing has published over 30 books, most recently African Laughter and The Real Thing: Stories and Sketches, both from HarperCollins 1992. She lives in London.
