The Student Designer was a student-run monthly newspaper published between 1929 and 1932. The February 27, 1930 issue had articles about the RISD Jewelry and Silversmithing department, art exhibitions in the Providence area, RISD sports news, class news, and social news. An article about RISD Alum and sculptor Nancy Elizabeth Prophet winning a Harmon Foundation prize for her wood carving of the "Head of a Negro" is present. Also included were local ads and a poem.

To make straight the paths for the poets, and the critics, the terms literature and character shall be defined, the extent, as well as the limitation, of the influence of literature on character outlined, and a method of approach to the study of literature discussed.
