Coordination, Adaptation, And Complexity In Decision Fusion, Weiqiang Dong
Coordination, Adaptation, And Complexity In Decision Fusion, Weiqiang Dong
Dissertations
A parallel decentralized binary decision fusion architecture employs a bank of local detectors (LDs) that access a commonly-observed phenomenon. The system makes a binary decision about the phenomenon, accepting one of two hypotheses (H0 (“absent”) or H1 (“present”)). The k 1 LD uses a local decision rule to compress its local observations yk into a binary local decision uk; uk = 0 if the k 1 LD accepts H0 and uk = 1 if it accepts H1. The k 1 LD sends its decision uk over a noiseless dedicated channel to a Data Fusion Center (DFC). The DFC combines the …

Lightweight Deep Learning For Botnet Ddos Detection On Iot Access Networks, Eric A. Mccullough
Lightweight Deep Learning For Botnet Ddos Detection On Iot Access Networks, Eric A. Mccullough
Graduate Theses/Dissertations
With the proliferation of the Internet of Things (IoT), computer networks have rapidly expanded in size. While Internet of Things Devices (IoTDs) benefit many aspects of life, these devices also introduce security risks in the form of vulnerabilities which give hackers billions of promising new targets. For example, botnets have exploited the security flaws common with IoTDs to gain unauthorized control of hundreds of thousands of hosts, which they then utilize to carry out massively disruptive distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. Traditional DDoS defense mechanisms rely on detecting attacks at their target and deploying mitigation strategies toward the attacker …

This paper addresses identification of implicit requirements (IMRs) in software requirements specifications (SRS). IMRs, as opposed to explicit requirements, are not specified by users but are more subtle. It has been noticed that IMRs are crucial to the success of software development. In this paper, we demonstrate a software tool called COTIR developed by us as a system that integrates Commonsense knowledge, Ontology and Text mining for early identification of Implicit Requirements. This relieves human software engineers from the tedious task of manually identifying IMRs in huge SRS documents. Our evaluation reveals that COTIR outperforms existing IMR tools. This demo …
