BACKGROUND: Social media is a ubiquitous part of the modern world and plays a key role in the dissemination of information. While utilizing social media for educational purposes has been repeatedly demonstrated as feasible, it has been underutilized in medical education and remains a critical opportunity to integrate microlearning and stigma reduction curricula.

METHODS: A cross-sectional survey on social media usage, attitudes, and beliefs was sent to medical and nursing students at two large academic institutions within Philadelphia. Descriptive statistics are reported, and non-parametric tests were utilized for exploratory analyses.

Puppetry-based activities could serve as a low cost and manageable intervention in improving health-related outcomes. This review aims to identify the research to date and gaps in practice of the role and application of puppetry interventions in nutrition education. A scoping review was conducted using the PICOS framework and PRISMA-ScR guidelines, identifying studies across eight databases between January, 1980 and July, 2025.Twenty-five studies were identified, with the majority (n = 19) aimed at pre-school and school-aged children. Fifteen studies used quasi-experimental, pre-post designs. The use of hand and finger puppets was common, as well as videos and puppet theatre. …

The main elements of Carnival include mask-wearing, elaborate costumes, and artistic showcases, especially theater and street performances. This webinar presents an overview of the contemporary state of creative-practice research and autotheory before introducing Shimmer, an emerging methodological framework developed through creative practice, postgraduate supervision, and reflective inquiry. The presentation argues that while creative-practice research has successfully established creative work as a legitimate form of knowledge production, and autotheory has legitimised lived experience as theoretical material, both traditions leave relatively under-theorised the embodied moment through which insight first emerges.

In this thesis, I explore how Ghanaian Adinkra symbols, particularly Sankɔfa and Gye Nyame, function as living expressions of memory, spirituality, and belonging within diasporic life. Drawing on autoethnography, story circles conducted at Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) in Syracuse, New York, and embodied experience, the study examines how these symbols move beyond decoration to become active tools for remembering, resisting, and reconnecting with ancestral knowledge. Trans people, especially trans women, are a highly-targeted minority group and suffer rapidly-increasing discrimination, often predicated on the notion that trans women are dangerous sexual deviants. Further, trans women are often fetishized in their day-to-day lives, regularly manifesting as abuse. At the same time, demand for porn featuring trans women has skyrocketed, but literature about trans women in porn remains extraordinarily lacking in both quantity and quality. Persuasive Effects Of Paired Synthetic Images In Online Branding: A Comparative Study Using Elaboration Likelihood Model, Cancan Yu

The growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) in brand visuals has prompted interest in whether presenting synthetic images alongside real counterparts changes how consumers engage with and evaluate them. This between-subjects online experiment (N = 211) tested whether paired versus single presentation of synthetic and real brand images affected engagement and attitudes, including perceived trustworthiness and perceived attractiveness, using the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM). Results did not reveal that presentation format affects engagement, engagement predicts either attitudinal outcome, or format moderates the engagement-attitude relationship. This thesis explores the way political rhetorics of time, morality, and political violence play out in visual representations of the far right in the United States via maps. In Out of Joint: Power, Crisis, and the Rhetoric of Time, Nomi Claire Lazar argues that governments and political movements use temporal-rhetorical frameworks to generate political legitimacy by associating their movement with time, which is generally understood as natural. Over the past three decades, youth sexual activity has steadily declined, with members of Generation Z (those born between 1997 to 2012) reporting lower rates of sexual activity than previous generations, and in many cases, delaying their first sexual experiences. This shift raises the question of whether contemporary teen television reflects these changes in sexual behavior. This paper examines how young adults use dark humor memes to cope with collective trauma, and whether that humor helps people process painful experiences or gives them a way to avoid dealing with them. Using qualitative content analysis and Huntington's (2013) visual rhetoric framework, three memes from Instagram were analyzed across topics including the COVID-19 pandemic and school gun violence. The analysis found that dark humor memes do not function uniformly. This paper examines how wearable fitness technologies function as persuasive digital tools that shape cultural understandings of health. Through a qualitative rhetorical analysis of popular devices such as Fitbit, Apple Watch, Garmin, and WHOOP, the study explores how interface design, data visualizations, notifications, and marketing materials communicate implicit messages about wellness. Rather than acting as neutral measurement tools, fitness trackers promote specific values, including quantification, discipline, optimization, and self-surveillance. It focuses on YouTube channels 8 Passengers and DaddyOFive. The research analyzes selected videos and audience comments to identify recurring patterns in parenting practices, child treatment, and public response. This project examines how organizations in Crawford County, Kansas communicate services related to poverty, homelessness, food insecurity, mental health, and crisis support. Through a qualitative content analysis of five local organizations, the project explores how communication practices shape accessibility, service navigation, and coordination across community resources. Guided by interorganizational relations (IOR) and domain theory, the project analyzes public-facing communication including websites, referral information, service descriptions, and organizational messaging. Findings reveal a consistent pattern of strong internal communication but limited visible coordination between organizations. This paper examines how single mothers are represented on romantic reality television, focusing on Love Island USA and the storyline of contestant Huda Mustafa. Using a qualitative content analysis of episodes one through seven, this study looks at how motherhood is framed through Huda’s self representation, the reactions of other islanders, and the show’s editing and production choices. The findings show that Huda presents motherhood as a central and meaningful part of her identity, while also navigating fear of judgment and possible rejection in a dating environment. This dissertation explores how the African American pulpit serves as a living wellspring for rebuilding stories, memory, and identity, a task made urgent by centuries of erasure, from the trauma of the Middle Passage to the ongoing reverberations of that violence. This study examines how nano-influencers with 2,500 to 25,000 Instagram followers utilize authenticity and vulnerability to build audience trust and drive engagement. Through a thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews with 10 creators, the research identifies three core strategies: maintaining a digital best friend persona through reciprocal interaction, practicing "calibrated vulnerability" that balances personal disclosure with strict safety boundaries, and prioritizing ethical brand alignment to ensure honesty. Grounded in Parasocial Interaction Theory, the findings demonstrate that nano-influencers disrupt traditional one-way media models by fostering intimate, two-way relationships. Effective teamwork is essential for collaborative learning, yet forming compatible student groups remains a persistent challenge. This study explores how algorithmic team-building methods influence students’ social and academic compatibility overtime. To support this investigation, we designed a visual survey system called “The Disco Ball."
