Analysis Of The Yeast Surface Display Platform As A Tool For Tyrosine Kinase Phosphorylation Assays, Alexandra Maritza Tang
Analysis Of The Yeast Surface Display Platform As A Tool For Tyrosine Kinase Phosphorylation Assays, Alexandra Maritza Tang
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Developing and optimizing platforms to study complex protein-protein interactions is important to maintain fidelity of the modeled activity. Yeast surface display has been used as a high-throughput platform to model substrate phosphorylation by tyrosine kinases, a key enzymatic process that is essential for most cell signaling pathways. However, existing characteristics of the yeast surface display platform limit the ease-of-use, reproducibility, and feasibility of screening enzymatic modification processes like tyrosine phosphorylation. The cytoplasmic domain of T cell costimulatory receptor CD28 and lymphocyte kinase (LCK) were used as a model enzyme-substrate pair to showcase molecular cloning issues that can hinder reproducibility and …

Molecular Origins Of Non-Frozen Water In Polyelectrolyte Brushes, Ali Dhinojwala, Saveen Jayaweera, Md Golam Kibria, George Mallinos
University Research
Polyelectrolyte brushes (PEBs) are promising coatings for reducing ice adhesion and regulating water freezing at interfaces, yet direct measurements of nonfrozen water retention at subzero temperatures remain scarce. Here, we investigate the freezing behavior of water confined in poly([2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl]trimethylammonium) (PMETA) brushes with chloride, iodide, and sulfate counterions using a custom-built low-temperature attenuated total reflectance infrared spectroscopy system. Furthermore, we quantify the fraction of water that was present within the brush that does not freeze as well as the changes in polymer volume fraction within the brush as a function of temperature. Spectroscopic analysis of water vibrational modes reveals that PMETA …

Green hydrogen, produced through water electrolysis, is a key enabler of a low-carbon energy future, and anion exchange membrane electrolyzers (AEMELs) have emerged as a promising technology due to their potential for ultra-low-cost operation. However, achieving low cell voltage at high current densities and maintaining long-term durability remain key AEMEL challenges. To address these issues, most research efforts to date have focused on developing advanced catalysts and membranes. In contrast, the influence of non-material factors, such as cell assembly parameters and operating conditions, remains underexplored, even though they can significantly impact performance. This study investigates how such variables affect AEMEL …
Algorithms Of Stable Adaptive Observation Of A Multidimensional Undefinite Object, Tursunova Sadoqat Abdusalom Qizi
Algorithms Of Stable Adaptive Observation Of A Multidimensional Undefinite Object, Tursunova Sadoqat Abdusalom Qizi
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
This article presents an algorithm for simultaneously estimating the parameters and state coordinates of a multidimensional control object when some of its state variables are not directly measured. The inability to measure all state variables (coordinates) of an object is a well-known drawback of identification schemes. Such conditions require the construction of adaptive state observers. This work demonstrates that when identifying the parameters of a mathematical model for an uncertain multidimensional object, the asymptotic stability of the object and the convergence of its parameters to the model parameters are ensured, provided the input vector is sufficiently informative. The construction of …

Analytical Method For Investigating Nonlinear Magnetic Circuits Of Measuring Transducers With A Standard Parameter Distribution Structure, Javhar Sulton O'G'Li Fayzullayev
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
The article proposes a new analytical method for investigating magnetic circuits with distributed parameters and nonlinear magnetic coupling. The method is based on introducing into the system of nonlinear differential equations of such circuits the condition that the second derivative of the magnetic flux with respect to the circuit length is equal to zero, as well as on assuming that one of the geometric parameters of the studied magnetic circuit – the value of the air gap between ferromagnetic cores, their thickness, width, or the linear value of the number of turns of the distributed excitation winding – is a …

Research Of Logic Elements Based On Complementary Bipolar Transistors, Nodira Batirdjanovna Alimova, Nilufar Baxtiyorovna Gulyamova
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
Important parameters for any type of inverter – a NOT logic gate – are the power consumption during switching and the supply voltage. The proposed connection of complementary (two different types) bipolar transistors reduces the current consumption and supply voltage by simultaneously using the cutoff and saturation modes of the bipolar transistors. It has been theoretically and experimentally established that an inverter using complementary bipolar transistors operates at low supply voltages, approximately 0.7 V. Power consumption is virtually independent of the inverter's static state. A method for calculating the transfer characteristic of an inverter using complementary bipolar transistors is developed, …

Synthesis Of An Adaptive Synergistic Fuzzy Discrete Controller For Nonlinear Systems, Isamidin Xakimovich Sidikov, Gulruxsor Murot Qizi Nashvandova, Feruzakhon Botirxon Qizi Sodiqova
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
The paper considers the issues of synthesizing an adaptive fuzzy synergetic controller with discrete time for nonstationary nonlinear dynamic objects. The proposed approach is based on the integrated use of synergetic control principles and fuzzy logic methods, which ensure the formation of a control law for nonlinear dynamic objects that provides asymptotic stability of the control system. Such a hybrid combination makes it possible to guarantee the asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system and to shape the required dynamic behavior of the object over a wide range of operating modes. In addition, this approach provides the ability to adapt to …

Adaptive-Robust Control Of Dynamic Systems Using Generalized Predictive Methods, Shuxrat Tulyaganov
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
This paper considers an approach to adaptive-robust control of dynamic systems using generalized anticipation, where the object is described by a locally linearized model. Known self-tuning algorithms show insufficient stability to inaccurate selection of delay or model order. A generalized predictive control approach is suggested, with simulation outcomes showing superiority over traditional methods like generalized minimum variance control and pole assignment. This sliding horizon algorithm is based on predicting future system output signals several steps ahead, based on assumptions about subsequent control actions. One effective assumption is the presence of a “control horizon,” beyond which control signal increments are assumed to …

The growing global demand for energy and heightened environmental concerns have elevated the importance of solar energy harvesting in recent years. Parabolic trough collectors (PTCs) are widely utilized for capturing direct solar radiation; however, conventional PTC efficiency is limited by low convection heat transfer rate in the absorber section, which is then delivered to heat transfer fluid (HTF). This study numerically investigates the use of a threaded tube as a fluid flow disruption technique to enhance heat transfer rate within the absorber, with Reynolds numbers ranging from 4000 to 10,000. Three key geometric parameters of the thread: pitch (300, 150 …

Microporous annealed particle (MAP) scaffolds are emerging as a facile, yet sophisticated biomaterial platform with tremendous potential for tissue regenerative applications. These scaffolds are fabricated in situ through interparticle crosslinking of microgels using a variety of covalent or non-covalent techniques and possess excellent tunability and biocompatibility. The microporous structure of MAP scaffolds allows cellular infiltration and vascularization independent of degradation rate, making them more advantageous than traditional nanoporous bulk hydrogels. Moreover, the incorporation of in situ crosslinking allows MAP scaffolds to retain the key advantages of traditional microgel-based scaffolds—such as injectability and modularity—while providing the added benefit of a fixed …

The redox active species in all-vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFBs) reside in the electrolyte, while the heterogeneous reactions occur on the electrode surface; the electrode is therefore the decisive platform for dynamic adsorption, electron transfer, and ion conversion, especially for the VO2+/VO2+ and V2+/V3+ couples. One of the major challenges for VRFBs is the slow charge transfer in VO2+/VO2+ and V2+/V3+ reactions, mainly caused by poor catalytic performance of electrodes and weak adhesion of catalysts to electrodes. This review focuses on the key challenges and recent …

Anodic aluminium oxide (AAO) porous films with an interpore distance of several hundred nanometers are of great interest due to their unique interaction with visible and near-infrared light, and high thermal stability up to 1500 °C. These porous films are prepared by aluminium anodizing at high voltages in weak acids, leading to a slow kinetics of initial stages of porous structure formation. Here, we propose an approach to accelerate AAO formation in electrolytes based on weak acids such as phosphoric acid. Aluminium foils, pre-patterned using first anodizing under different conditions and subsequent selective dissolution of a sacrificial AAO layer, were …

Balancing involves applying the optimized amount of insulation materials to avoid excessive emissions in either the operational or embodied phases. Due to the wide range of insulation materials and variations of their specifications, it is vital to analyse them individually. The focus of this study is to optimize the amount of insulation materials in the facades of Residential Buildings (RB) to balance the amount of Operational Carbon Emissions (OCE) and Embodied Carbon Emissions (ECE) by applying the Building Information Modelling-Life Cycle Assessment (BIM-LCA) integration method. The Life …

Integrating sustainable material procurement with construction waste management is essential to reduce construction and demolition waste in Libya, where current practices remain largely reactive and disposal-oriented. This narrative review aims to develop a conceptual framework linking procurement decisions to waste-generation pathways in Libyan construction projects, clarifying how proactive, sustainability-driven purchasing can serve as a primary driver of waste prevention. Using a PRISMA-guided systematic search of Web of Science, Scopus, and IEEE Xplore for 2001–2026, and a bibliometric analysis via VOSviewer, 956 high-quality studies were synthesized to map global knowledge and to expose the paucity of integrated SMP–CWM studies in developing …
