The AICPA's Hospital Audit Guide presently calls for combined financial reporting for related organizations if "significant resources or operations of a hospital . . . are handled by such organizations and they . . . are under the control of (or common control with) hospitals. . . ." However, the guide does not give any guidance about or explanation of what constitutes "control" or "hospital resources." As a consequence, a variety of reporting practices are being followed in identical or similar circumstances. Since a large number of nonprofit organizations are not covered by any of the industry audit guides (Hospital, Colleges and Universities, Voluntary Health and Welfare Organizations, and State and Local Governmental Units), this statement of position is issued to recommend financial accounting principles and reporting practices for all other nonprofit organizations that prepare financial statements in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles.

Problem

American consumers are eating more and more of their meals outside the home. Americans are also becoming more diet conscious and the Select Committee on Nutrition and Human Needs (HEW) has encouraged restaurant managers to consider their impact on the nation’s health. The purpose of this study was to survey the eating-out habits and preferences of residents in three adjacent cities in southeastern Washington (Pasco, Richland, and Kennewick), and determine the potential acceptance of a natural foods restaurant in this Tri-City area. -- Method. Section 2-3.27 of the School Code of Illinois requires the State Superintendent of Education to formulate and approve forms, procedures, and regulations for school districts in proper accounting of all receipts and disbursements; and to publish and keep current manuals, in loose-leaf form, relative to budgetary and accounting procedures.

At the present time the state has issued two accounting guidelines, the Illinois Financial Accounting Manual and the Illinois Program Accounting Manual. Manuscript Collection

The collection is a valuable source of information concerning family life in Rock Hill, S.C. during the period from 1920-1945. The collection includes diaries, Thomas Tours brochures, newspaper clippings speeches, financial and estate records, genealogies, menus, photographs, memorabilia and extensive body of correspondence comprising the largest part of the collection. Dr. Roy Zachariah Thomas brought his family to Rock Hill when he assumed the position of professor of Chemistry at Winthrop College in 1914. The correspondence in the collections traces the growth of the Thomas family and the tour business, Thomas Tours, Inc., that Dr. Thomas founded in the 1920’s. …

The major objectives of this study were (1) to design and implement an improved system for use in research administration at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), and (2) to organize and to disseminate to other universities those concepts and solutions found useful by CWRU. The project was performed in four phases: (1) a detailed description of the total research administration system at CWRU, (2) detailed problem analyses, (3) development of a proposal for implementation, and (4) implementation and evaluation of the results of the study.
