Hospital Resources Used As Guides In Unfamiliar Nursing Procedures, Marie Ethel Greene Jun 1963

Hospital Resources Used As Guides In Unfamiliar Nursing Procedures, Marie Ethel Greene

Loma Linda University Electronic Theses, Dissertations & Projects

Hospital nursing procedures are rapidly increasing in number and in complexity, keeping pace with the continuous advances being made in medical science. This, coupled with the fact that many nurses are resuming their careers after a period of professional inactivity, make it imperative that hospitals provide facilities for assisting nursing personnel in becoming acquainted with unfamiliar procedures. This study was done to learn what resources hospital nursing personnel use most as a guide in performing unfamiliar procedures, and by internal analysis, to identify some of the factors influencing the choice of resources used by different levels of nursing personnel. Following …

A Study Of Personnel Practices As Reflected Through Employee Interviews In Selected New Mexico Banks: A Comparison Of Findings With General Banking Practices In The United States, Maurine Petty May 1963

A Study Of Personnel Practices As Reflected Through Employee Interviews In Selected New Mexico Banks: A Comparison Of Findings With General Banking Practices In The United States, Maurine Petty

Anderson School of Management Theses & Dissertations

The banking system in the United States is an integral part of the financial structure of the nation. Within the economy of a free market and a democratic nation the banking system, or central bank, is generally regarded, in some sense, as the conscience or the guardian of a nation’s financial responsibilities; therefore, a unique position is found for it within each governmental structure.

A Business History Of The Copper Industry Of Utah, 1860-1910, Gary Barker Hansen May 1963

A Business History Of The Copper Industry Of Utah, 1860-1910, Gary Barker Hansen

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

Historically, those communities or nations which are generously endowed with natural resources, and have the necessary skills to practice the liberal and useful art have become the most advanced civilizations. Furthermore, "of all the resources which are basic to civilization, the possession and utilization of minerals must be placed first."

It would be difficult to estimate the over-all importance of the nonferrous metals industry (gold, silver, copper, lead, zinc) in helping America to become a great civilization. However. if it were possible, it would be considerable indeed. As Utah has been an important nonferrous mineral producing state for over 100 …

The Midwest Quarterly: A Journal of Contemporary Thought

in this issue. . .

OBVIOUSLY, controversy is characteristic of most discussions of questions of contemporary importance. While the editors of THE MIDWEST QUARTERLY deliberately selected controversial articles for inclusion in our last (January) issue, it was not our aim or objective to make this issue controversial to the same degree. Examination of our table of contents, however, and closer examination of the six discussions therein, will undoubtedly disclose and generate as much controversy as our last issue. It may be that questions arising from Dr. Samuel Johnson's visit to Scotland (just before the American Revolution broke out) will not …

The Midwest Quarterly: A Journal of Contemporary Thought

in this issue. . .

CONTROVERSY is the ingredient common to all six articles appearing on the following pages. Subject matter ranges widely from the nature of life to the nature of revolution, from contemporary drama to one of the most ancient faiths known to man, from arms control to James Joyce. Another characteristic common to these half dozen essays is their ability to stimulate rather strong reader reactions: in every case, the editors of THE MIDWEST QUARTERLY were anything but ambivalent in their comments. Since this is or purports to be a journal of contemporary thought, it seems entirely …

Harrison "Buzz" Price Papers

A typed and handwritten letter including edits from Harrison A. Price (HAP) to Bill (William Cottrell, President, WED Enterprises, Inc.), which begins as follows “After a careful analysis we have come up with an approach to the WED / WDP royalty problem that appears to have merit. The essence of it is that WED would receive a profit on its design work through royalties on attractions designed, and that the royalties would be collected on that portion of attendance that is over break-even levels.” A detailed system of calculating royalty payments is included as are hypothetical examples. A supplemental handwritten …

A Study Of The Career Patterns And Formal Education Of Selected Managers Of Illinois Limited Price Variety Stores, Robert W. Jefferson

Dissertations and Theses @ UNI

In American society prospective workers focus much attention upon the selection of a career occupation. The choosing of an appropriate field is becoming increasingly important at an earlier age in a young person's life. The choosing of an occupation may be affected by parents, friends , aptitudes, education or skills required, and the ambition of the prospective employee. The increase or decrease of the number of workers in a given field of employment may affect the desire of prospective employees to enter a given position or level. Today we are witnessing rapid technological changes that have eliminated some jobs, created …

An Analysis Of The Effects Of Importing Farm Workers From Mexico, Robert Lafrance Dunbar Jan 1963

An Analysis Of The Effects Of Importing Farm Workers From Mexico, Robert Lafrance Dunbar

University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations

Each year, hundreds of thousands of farm workers emigrate from Mexico. to cultivate and harvest crops on American farms and return to Mexico at the end of the harvest season. These men are permitted to enter the United States under the auspices of the Mexican farm labor program established by the federal government. The migration of these farm laborers has involved "...one of the most significant population movements in the Western Hemisphere in the last twenty-five years".
