Low-Code Development Platform Comprehension In Building Business Software: A Case Study, Neil D. Raybould Jul 2025

Low-Code Development Platform Comprehension In Building Business Software: A Case Study, Neil D. Raybould

Journal of Fundamental & Applied Business Research

Low-code development platforms (LCDPs) have been touted as computing tools that can equip novice users to create business software quickly without the need for formal programming expertise. LCDPs have also been viewed as attractive alternatives that reduce the time and resource constraints often associated with traditional software development. Gartner anticipates that LCDPs will be used to develop approximately 70% of all new business software applications by the end of 2025. Yet approximately one half of application developers studied possessed insufficient knowledge of these platforms, with some managers and traditional technologists expressing outright skepticism toward platform effectiveness. A lack of organizational …

Leaders Challenges In Impacting Employees' Job Satisfaction And Work Performance, Sheila M. Mitchell Jul 2025

Leaders Challenges In Impacting Employees' Job Satisfaction And Work Performance, Sheila M. Mitchell

Journal of Fundamental & Applied Business Research

Leadership style is critical in determining an organization's success or failure. Organizations across industries must ensure they have effective leaders who inspire and motivate employees to commit to achieving organizational goals, resulting in a competitive advantage. They must be able to significantly influence employee job satisfaction and work performance, which are critical factors in an organization's success. Job satisfaction reflects employees' attitudes toward their jobs and organization. Work performance measures how effectively an employee performs work that meets standards. The researcher examined the effects of transformational, transactional, and laissez-faire leadership styles and toxic leadership behavior on employee satisfaction and work …

Renewable Energy As A Mediating Variable In The Relationship Between Strategic Planning And Sustainable Development In Palestinian Local Authorities, Salameh Salem, Ola Quzmar Jul 2025

Renewable Energy As A Mediating Variable In The Relationship Between Strategic Planning And Sustainable Development In Palestinian Local Authorities, Salameh Salem, Ola Quzmar

Jordan Journal of Applied Science-Humanities Series

This study primarily aims to explore the correlations between strategic planning practices and the achievement of sustainable development in Palestinian local authorities. To accomplish the study's objectives, a descriptive-correlational approach was employed to examine the relationship and impact between the study variables from the perspectives of members of strategic planning committees in the major governorates of the northern West Bank (Nablus, Tulkarm, Jenin, Tubas, Salfit, and Qalqilya). The study model was tested using a sample of 262 members, whose responses were collected through an electronic questionnaire. Non-probability (convenience) sampling was used for ease of data collection. The questionnaire served as …

Aeolus-Ds: Dust-Aware Ai Decision Support For Coccidioidomycosis (Valley Fever) — A Design Science Research Framework Integrating Aerosol Remote Sensing, Land Disturbance, And Clinical Sentinel Signals, Harsha Sammangi, Aditya Jagatha, Harshini Balaga Jul 2025

Aeolus-Ds: Dust-Aware Ai Decision Support For Coccidioidomycosis (Valley Fever) — A Design Science Research Framework Integrating Aerosol Remote Sensing, Land Disturbance, And Clinical Sentinel Signals, Harsha Sammangi, Aditya Jagatha, Harshini Balaga

Research & Publications

This paper presents Aeolus-DS, a design science research (DSR) artifact that integrates aerosol remote sensing (MAIAC AOD; dust fraction), mesoscale meteorology and soil moisture (ERA5), land-disturbance telemetry (construction, off-road vehicle activity, nightlights) and clinical sentinel signals (syndromic ED chief complaints, pneumonia rule-out) into a dust-aware, AI-driven early warning and decision-support system for Coccidioidomycosis (Valley Fever). Methodologically, we propose a graph spatiotemporal transformer with direction-aware attention and physics-guided regularisation reflecting aeolian transport. Using county-week panels (2014-2024) for the U.S. Southwest (AZ–CA–NV), Aeolus-DS improves now-casting mean absolute error (MAE) by 18% and two-week area under precision-recall curve (AUPRC) by 21% over …

A Quantitative Study Of Presidents At Public And Private 4-Year Historically Black Colleges And Universities, Richard J. Gallot, Jr. Jul 2025

A Quantitative Study Of Presidents At Public And Private 4-Year Historically Black Colleges And Universities, Richard J. Gallot, Jr.

PhD in Organizational Leadership

There has been a notable increase in presidential turnover at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), leading to significant leadership challenges (Freeman & Gasman, 2014). Abrupt leadership changes create instability that impacts recruitment and retention of students, faculty, and staff, as well as overall morale on campuses (Gasman et al., 2010). Despite the importance of effective leadership, there is limited research specifically focusing on HBCU presidencies (Freeman & Palmer, 2020). Although the American Council on Education (ACE) has surveyed college and university presidents every 5 years since 1986, few studies have investigated HBCU presidents as a distinctive group. Existing research …

Developing A Typology Of Korean Women Leaders' Resistance To Their Token Status In The Workplace, Yonjoo Cho, Jiwon Park, Sumi Lee, Sokyum Yoon Jul 2025

Developing A Typology Of Korean Women Leaders' Resistance To Their Token Status In The Workplace, Yonjoo Cho, Jiwon Park, Sumi Lee, Sokyum Yoon

Human Resource Development Faculty Publications and Presentations

Despite remarkable economic development in South Korea (Korea), there are only a few women leaders, and they face challenges in the gendered workplace where organizational constraints and traditional values coexist. In a reanalysis of narratives of Korean women leaders (KWLs), using an ideal-type analysis as a novel qualitative research method, we identified five types of KWLs' resistance to their token status in the workplace: (1) Opportunity-Driven, (2) Pathfinding, (3) Self-Reflective, (4) Persevering, and (5) Changing the Way to Resist. The five types broaden the meaning of KWLs' resistance and highlight different ways they resist their token status in the workplace. …
