KSU Proceedings on Cybersecurity Education, Research and Practice

This study extends the body of literature concerning security compliance by investigating the antecedents of HIPPA security compliance. A conceptual model, specifying a set of hypothesized relationships between management support, security awareness, security culture; security behavior, and risk of sanctions to address their effect on HIPAA security compliance is presented. This model was developed based on the review of the literature, Protection Motivation Theory, and General Deterrence Theory. Specifically, the aim of the study is to examine the mediating role of risk of sanctions on HIPAA security compliance.

Who Is Making Lifestyle Changes Due To Preventive Health Care Information? A 10 Year Comparison Study, Joseph D. Cangelosi Jr., David Kim, Edward Ranelli

Atlantic Marketing Association Proceedings

This paper sought to describe from a set of 6 demographic and 13 lifestyle change variables the person who is significantly and positively impacted by preventive health care information (PHCI). Based on past research, six hypotheses were developed. Three of the six hypotheses were accepted. In addition, there were significant relationships for each of the six demographic variables with at least one of the lifestyle change variables. Those who are seeking and are positively impacted by PHCI are better educated, female, and (depending upon the lifestyle change variable in question) fall into a definite age category. Salary surveys are an important tool for the library community and the administrators and boards responsible for the oversight of libraries. However, such assessments must be constructed and analyzed with great care. The Vermont Library Association Personnel Committee has conducted three salary surveys over the past several years, one focusing on academic libraries and two on public libraries. Significant issues have included confidentiality, participation rate, definitions, length and difficulty of questions, collection of data, and representativeness. Suggestions and lessons learned will be shared.

The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the concept of pre-purchase brand avoidance, by identifying the factors motivating this phenomenon. In addition this paper aims to provide the negative effect of familiarity with country-of-origin. The paper finds that the concept does exist in developing countries as well, and for all categories of brands, undesired self congruence is the key determinant for pre-purchase brand avoidance.
