Native Christian Movements In The Philippine Islands, Arnold Strohschein
Native Christian Movements In The Philippine Islands, Arnold Strohschein
Bachelor of Divinity
The story of the Independent Filipino Church is actually the story of one man, Bishop Gregorio Aglipay. It was this man who led the Filipino masses in a break from Rome to get up a truly Filipino national Church, a Church that a Filipino would be proud to claim as his own a church organized end conducted altogether by Filipino people. Therefore, it is necessary that we go into the life and background or this prominent man, Gregorio Aglipay, that we might learn what prompted him to lead his people in a revolt against Rome.

An Examination Of The Worship Of Mary Of Guadalupe, Martin Luther Frenk
An Examination Of The Worship Of Mary Of Guadalupe, Martin Luther Frenk
Bachelor of Divinity
The Trinity of the Bible is fast becoming the Quadrinity in the Catholic Church. Mariolatry, or the worship of Mary, has become a chief characteristic of the Roman Church in our day. The doctrine of Mary’s cooperation in salvation is far more developed and emphasized today than in the days of Martin Luther.

Political History Of San Juan County, Robert W. Duke
Political History Of San Juan County, Robert W. Duke
History ETDs
San Juan County, the area under consideration, occupies the extreme northwest corner of the state of New Mexico. It is bounded on the north by La Plata County, Colorado, on the west by the state of Arizona, on the south by McKinley County, and on the west by Rio Arriba and Sandoval Counties. This area is something of an empire in itself as it comprises 5,176 square miles, or 3,504,640 acres. Approximately 2,000,000 acres in the area lie within the confines of the Navajo Indian Reservation, leaving some million and a half acres in the county proper, of which about …

The Political And Economic Conditions In England In Their Relation To The English Reformation, Earl C. Kettler
The Political And Economic Conditions In England In Their Relation To The English Reformation, Earl C. Kettler
Bachelor of Divinity
We are concerned here with the influence that the political and economic conditions in England had on the English Reformation. Although, the actions in the break with the Roman Church covered a period of only a few years, the causes for those actions lie in the previous growth of England, politically and economically, An action, as far reaching, as the repudiation of the papacy, certainly did not come about over night. Its causes lie much deeper than merely a breach of canon law.
The Hussites And Their Work Of Reformation In Slovakia, Daniel Michael Estok
The Hussites And Their Work Of Reformation In Slovakia, Daniel Michael Estok
Bachelor of Divinity
In the middle of the fourteenth century central Europe was ripe for a reformation movement. a re-formation of the Church of the day. In consequence of the shameful debasement of the papacy and the deep corruption of the clergy and monks, the influence of the Church upon the moral and religious culture of the people, in spite of the ardent zeal of the homilists and catechists, was upon the whole much less than formerly. Reverence for the Church as it stood was indeed tottering, but was not yet completely overthrown.
The Impact Of The Church On The State In Lutheran And Calvinistic Theology, Roland Lemke
The Impact Of The Church On The State In Lutheran And Calvinistic Theology, Roland Lemke
Master of Sacred Theology Thesis
In a study and comparison of Lutheran and Calvinistic theology one finds a considerable difference in points of emphasis. Calvinism especially stresses the sovereignty of God, and this special emphasis colors its entire system of theology. In Lutheran theology, on the other hand, one finds the grace of God through Christ striking a more dominant note.
The Missionary Looks At His Work In The Light Of St Paul's Letter To The Colossians, O H. Schmidt
The Missionary Looks At His Work In The Light Of St Paul's Letter To The Colossians, O H. Schmidt
Bachelor of Divinity
While this paper was written primarily with reference to foreign mission work it is obvious that the various practical directions and hints contained in this epistle are just as applicable to the work in the home mission field. After all, the principles are the same, and you work with the same materials, with the word or God and with human beings.
