By 1929 and 1930 the popularity and the increasing use of the cluster form caught the attention of most careful readers of fiction. Its original adaptations, its unique technique, its clever appropriation of the best in the novel and in the short story forms, its use by leading novelists, its suggested similarity to age-old literary methods, and it's very apparent possibilities - all these make it a subject worthy of some detailed study.

The Distribution And Economic Significance Of The Genus Polygonum In Sacramento County Of California, Helen Keech Mccarthy

The genus Polygonum belongs to the family of plants, the Polygonaceae, which includes about forty genera and seven hundred and fifty species. About two hundred end seventy-five of these belong within Polygonum. Scientists have also found distinctly recognizable fossil Polygonums which date from prehistoric ages. Dr. F. H. Knowlton¹ of the U. S. National Museum has listed twelve species which have been found in fossil form. While studying collection of Colorado fossil plants in the Geological Tunes et Columbia College, Small discovered a remarkably distinct Polygonum belonging to the subgenus Persicaria.

The problem of' the Japanese in California has been prominent since the opening of the twentieth century. Much has been written in an attempt to help solve the problem. Yet the general trends of the writings prior to the Johnson Immigration Law of 1924 were to deal with the Japanese just coming into California rather than with those who were born here or had established permanent residence. Yet after the Immigration Law went into effect the problem of preventing undesirable Japanese from entering California became extinct. The problem no longer centers around exclusion but rather around "inclusion". In short the …

The Purpose of Christian Theology

In the performance of his sacred functions the Christian theologian must at all times conscientiously keep in mind the true objective of his theological activity. The purpose of sacred theology, so far as it regards lost and perishing mankind, is not the spread of culture nor the establishment of civic righteousness on earth nor the satisfaction of the intellectual craving of the human mind nor the enrichment of human knowledge, but the eternal salvation of sinners.

This investigation was made for the purpose of determining what has been accomplished in the past in the study of ethnobiology of the southwest Indians. Much of this has been produced as incidental to the archaeology of the region, and some as definite biological problems. Also isolated pieces of work have been done with the different Indian peoples and with varying phases of their ethnobiology. This is done by reasoning a posteriori, i.e. from the effects of order an harmony found in the universe to an intelligent cause of the order.
