It is a matter of record from his confirmation hearings that as Secretary of Interior, he will uphold the trust responsibility the federal government has with American Indians. This is encouraging."
That's the assessment of Eugene Crawford, director of the National Indian Lutheran Board (NILB) as he looks forward to the operations of the Bureau of Indian Affairs under the Department of Interior.

Citing that goal, Professor Albert Jabs of Voorhees College in Denmark, South Carolina, described the program he's developed which. involves students in contemporary social issues. Jabs, an LHRAA volunteer, states that a major component of last semester's program included a trip to the state capitol in Columbia.

To the Women's Studies Newsletter:
The National Institute of Education, which commissioned a series of eight monographs on women's studies as well as the Women's Studies Evaluation Handbook, has, since March 1980, been in the publishing and distribution business, mailing the 2,500 copies of the monograph series and handbook both to preset mailing lists (e.g., all women's studies programs, centers for research on women, libraries subscribing to this Newsletter, women's caucuses and commissions on the status of women in the professions, and higher education associations) and to those who have responded to various solicited and unsolicited notices in …

Later, many women entered human service professions; they chose jobs with poor, minority or …
