Mothers’ Pensions, Annette E. Schmidt Jun 1928

Mothers’ Pensions, Annette E. Schmidt

Bachelors’ Theses

Man gradually recedes from his primitive forefathers and in like proportion he recedes from his barbaric days. With this recession as the centuries passed man adopted a kindlier and more humane attitude toward his fellow man; he no longer hanged his neighbor for stealing a kerchief, nor placed him in stocks for public ridicule. Man has come to realize that other men are also human beings with the same tendencies and emotions. The equality of man was definitely expressed in the Declaration of Independence, "That all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable …

Formation Of Ideas, Clarence Tennessen Jun 1928

Formation Of Ideas, Clarence Tennessen

Bachelors’ Theses

MAN! What a masterpiece of creation! What a wonder of wonders! In composition how harmonious, how singular! Regarded from merely a mechanical viewpoint, the human body is so infinitely complex, so harmonious, so responsive, so delicate and yet so powerful, that all wonders of nature dwarf in comparison. Our huge buildings and beautiful edifices all fade into insignificance when compared to that edifice of Man. The charming splendor and thrilling beauty of nature, of her snowcapped mountains, her warbling streams, her thundering falls and her mighty canyons that defy description, grow placid when compared to Man. Thus, Man stands alone.

The Use Of The Chemico-Pathology Laboratory In The Dental Clinic, Matilda Mary Steinbrecher Jan 1928

The Use Of The Chemico-Pathology Laboratory In The Dental Clinic, Matilda Mary Steinbrecher

Bachelors’ Theses

The reason why the practice of dentistry is sometimes criticized to-day is because it was separated from the practice of medicine at a time when mouth disorder as a cause of systemic disease was not recognized, and mechanical restoration of teeth was made the foundation of dentistry. The keynote in judging a man's ability was by the expertness of his mechanical skill. This attitude toward dentistry, not only by the medical men but by the laity as well, has been a regrettable weakness in the dental profession. The dentist's work was regarded as entirely mechanical and for the purpose of …

The Immortality Of The Soul, Francis George Ramsden Jun 1927

The Immortality Of The Soul, Francis George Ramsden

Bachelors’ Theses

Throughout these changing centuries since the beginning of the world, and among the ever varying elements of life, there has been one being who has remained essentially the same. Man was created by God and endowed with a body and a soul. Though times and customs have changed and man lives differently now than did those who preceded him, he still possesses these same physical parts, a body and a soul.
