Foreword, W. Arndt Jan 1941

Foreword, W. Arndt

Concordia Theological Monthly

As one at the beginning of a new year views the religious scene, it cannot be denied that in the Lutheran Church more discussion of questions of doctrine and practice is taking place than has been witnessed in it for at least one, probably for more decades. The great issue is again whether the course of strict, uncompromising confessionalism which this journal and its chief ancestor, Lehre und Wehre, consistently sponsored from the very beginning is morally, that is, in the court of God and our own conscience, defensible, and not only defensible, but right, proper, just, and required. School Of Practical Art Course Catalog (1941-1942), School Of Practical Art

Art Institute of Boston (AIB) Course Catalogs

The School of Practical Art was established in 1912 by Roy Atherton Davidson. For twenty-nine years it has regularly and consistently trained its students to engage in remunerative work in those branches of art which are necessary to business and industry. Today it occupies an important position in the training and placing of artists in this work.

The drawings and paintings reproduced in this catalog are all original, and were made by students who began their art school training with no more talent than you are familiar with in high school work. Unusual talent is not necessary and you should …

Noel Coward's Contribution To The Comedy Of Manners., Clara-Marie Doughtry May 1940

Noel Coward's Contribution To The Comedy Of Manners., Clara-Marie Doughtry

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

An estimate of Noel Coward's contribution to the comedy of manners necessitates an understanding of: (1) the nature and the place of the comedy of manners in modern drama, (2) Noel Coward's background, and (3) an analysis of Noel Coward's formula for the comedy of manners. We find in the material relating to modern drama. little discussion of the comedy of manners. Occasionally plays may be mentioned as comedies of manners, but there is no discussion as to the specific nature of the comedy of manners in modern drama. The only book that discusses fully the comedy of manners in …
