A Study Of Soviet Music Education, Norman Alan Haltmeyer
A Study Of Soviet Music Education, Norman Alan Haltmeyer
Dissertations and Theses @ UNI
The great emphasis that the people and government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics place upon the study of music, and the encouragement that they give to musical participation on the amateur and professional levels make an investigation of Soviet music education most appropriate . This study has been made with the hope of achieving a new and better understanding of the Soviet method of educating the people and, more specifically, education as related to music . This age of tremendous unique educational advance brings the responsibility of improved instruction to every society. The future of the United States …

The Midwest Quarterly: A Journal of Contemporary Thought
in this issue. . .
BEGINNING our fifth year of publication with this issue, we continue our policy of variety in the subject matter of the articles here presented, from musicology to historiography, from Formosa to the United Kingdom, from Jacob Burckhardt to Robert Frost. We count ourselves fortunate in having discovered discussions suitable for inclusion in a journal of contemporary thought and in receiving unsolicited contributions which quickly won editorial acceptance. As in our first four years, we start this new volume confident in the role and objectives of our journal and reassured by continued growth in the number …

United We Serve Relief Efforts Of The Women Of New York City During The Civil War, Phyllis Korzilius
Masters Theses
Preface
In high school and college most of my study in the Civil War period centered in the great battles, generals, political figures, and national events that marked the American scene between 1861 and 1865. Because the courses were of a broad survey type, it would have been presumptuous to expect any special attention to such issues as the role of women in the war. However, a probe of the more common or personal aspects of the "era of conflict" provides a deeper insight of the era as well as more knowledge. For this reason I have examined the work …

The Cosmological Proof For The Existence Of God In Post-Reformation Theology, Otto Stahlke

It ls the aim of this study to inquire whether the Post-Reformation theologians were aware of the difficulty which the cosmological proof has encountered in later thought, and, if so, how they responded to this difficulty.
